Indian Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 100 Years of Growth and Nation-Building
On December 18, 2024, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) celebrated its 100th anniversary in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone. This momentous occasion comes after a century of success in promoting India’s business and economic development, which was celebrated with a huge inauguration ceremony in Kolkata on December 15, 2024.
Established in 1925 under the visionary direction of Shri G.D. Birla, ICC arose from the nationalist movement in India with the specific objective of advancing economic development in order to construct a nation. It has developed into a major voice for Indian industries over the past century, assisting companies, encouraging investments, and boosting exports. India’s economic environment has been greatly influenced by its efforts to support innovation and start-ups.
With 15 regional offices throughout India and representation in 25 countries globally, ICC is a formidable organization today. The ICC now operates throughout the country, from Tripura to Gujarat, and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Shri Balvantsinh Rajput, Gujarat’s Minister of Industries, MSME, and Rural Industries, met with a team headed by Dr. Rajeev Singh, ICC President Abhyuday Jindal, and ICC Gujarat Council Chairman Pathik Patwari. Under the direction of the state government, they talked about MSME development measures.
