Adani Powers First-Ever Indian Pickleball League to Life
Newz Daddy Sports Updates
The Adani Group has come on board as the “Powered By” partner for the very first season of the Indian Pickleball League (IPBL). This alliance is a big moment for pickleball in India, giving the sport a strong corporate push just as its national league is about to begin.
The IPBL has been launched by The Times Group and is officially sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), which itself is recognised by India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The league will take place from 1 to 7 December 2025, at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.
The format is designed to be fast and exciting — franchise-based city teams will compete, and both Indian and international players will take part. The idea is to make it television-friendly and appealing to younger sports fans.
Pickleball is growing quickly in India, and this partnership signals a shared goal: to build a modern, high-energy sports league in the country.
Sameer Pathak, who is President of Pickleball World Rankings (a Times Group firm), said they are thrilled to have Adani on board. He emphasised that Adani’s long-term support for Indian sports matches IPBL’s ambition to scale pickleball with real structure and visibility.
Sportsline praised IPBL’s potential. He said the Adani Group is proud to support pickleball — calling it one of India’s fastest-growing sports — and reiterated that the partnership reflects their commitment to building a top-class sporting ecosystem and supporting rising athletes.
The Adani Group isn’t new to grassroots sports. Adani Sportsline has already made investments at the local level, including in pickleball in Ahmedabad. They recently ran a pickleball tournament for radio professionals in Ahmedabad at the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park, showing their strong interest in growing the game from the ground up.
The IPA, meanwhile, is pushing hard to grow pickleball into a mainstream sport. Its mission includes building courts, training athletes, and organising tournaments across India.
This announcement comes at a time when pickleball is making real strides in India. According to reports, India performed strongly at the Pickleball World Cup in Florida in 2025, bringing home multiple medals. That kind of international success helps fuel excitement at home, and the IPBL will give Indian players a national stage to shine.
By backing the IPBL’s first season, the Adani Group is not just investing money — it is investing in a vision: to make pickleball a widely loved sport in India. The hope is that this league will grow beyond its first run, bringing more people into the sport, creating heroes, and building a strong competitive structure.
