BCCI removes Virat from ODI captaincy and hands over command to Rohit Sharma
Virat Kohli had announced his resignation as captain of the T20 team ahead of last year’s T20 World Cup. After that, he was also removed from the ODI captaincy by BCCI. The logic behind this was that the board wants to keep the same captain in limited overs cricket. Now because Virat is not the captain of the T20, he is also being removed from the ODI captaincy. BCCI has handed over the captaincy of both these limited overs formats to Rohit Sharma.
Last year there was news of differences between Rohit and Virat
There have been reports of Virat’s differences with Rohit Sharma since he quit the t20 team captaincy. Many media reports had revealed that everything was not right between Rohit and Virat.
