The country’s largest private transmission and distribution business, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), has announced the purchase of a massive 25,000 crore project, marking a major step towards strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure. AESL’s largest order to date, this High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project will create a reliable transmission link between Bhadla in Rajasthan and Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh.
This complex project’s main goal is to make it easier for 6,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy produced in resource-rich areas of Rajasthan to be transferred to northern India’s energy-demanding centers. The project’s seamless integration of this enormous amount of green energy into the national grid aligns with India’s objective for an environmentally benign and sustainable energy future.
The HVDC system has a 7,500 megavolt-ampere (MVA) transmission capacity and spans over 2,400 circuit kilometers (ckm). The project will be carried out on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis and is expected to be finished in 4.5 years. This approach demonstrates AESL’s commitment to effectively and sustainably completing major infrastructure projects.
AESL’s order book has grown to an astonishing 54,761 crore with the acquisition of this project, demonstrating the company’s strategic growth and its crucial role in India’s power transmission industry.
