Adani Seva Shines at Rath Yatra with Meals, Love & Care
Newzdaddy Spiritual Updates
The Adani Group’s assistance to pilgrims in Odisha is a silent but significant endeavour in the service of faith and the faithful that demonstrates its growing dedication to spiritual India.
The Adani Group has now focused on the Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha, one of India’s most famous religious festivals, following its massive and mostly volunteer-led assistance effort to feed the masses at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj earlier this year. Millions of people from all over the nation and abroad attend the nine-day chariot procession, which is held every year at the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Corporate social responsibility has always encompassed more than just infrastructure, healthcare, and education for the Adani Group. It increasingly encompasses active and direct involvement in Indian spiritual and cultural life, not as a sponsor but as a sevak.
The Adani Group is conducting a comprehensive seva effort to support pilgrims and frontline authorities during the Rath Yatra from June 26 to July 8, under Chairman Gautam Adani’s fervent belief that “Seva Hi Sadhana Hai” (Service is Worship).
Nearly 4 million meals and beverages were given away for free this year; officials and pilgrims received free, wholesome meals from designated food counters; Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha provided support for lifeguards; volunteers helped clean up the beach, particularly plastic waste; municipal workers received fluorescent safety vests; officials and devotees received a variety of jackets, raincoats, caps, and umbrellas; and officials and devotees received free T-shirts.
The Puri district administration, ISKCON, the Adani Group, and neighbourhood volunteer organisations are working together on the seva project. The Group views this seva as a component of a broader spiritual continuity in Indian public life. The Group has been working in Odisha through the Adani Foundation in areas like livelihoods, school facilities, and rural healthcare.
In partnership with ISKCON and Gita Press, the Adani Group provided extensive assistance for food distribution and pilgrim welfare services during the 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela earlier this year. Chairman Gautam Adani personally participated in seva at the Kumbh on January 21, reaffirming the Group’s stance that social service is a core principle rather than a side endeavour.
The Rath Yatra is about closeness, whereas the Maha Kumbh was about scale. Even if there are fewer people in Puri, the atmosphere is just as intense, and the logistical challenges are enormous. In addition to providing services, the Adani Group’s participation in Rath Yatra is promoting a development philosophy rooted in Indian culture, community, and compassion.
It is important to note that these initiatives are neither symbolic nor outsourced in order to comprehend the Group’s larger approach to seva. The execution is frequently overseen by Adani coordinators who have established connections in the area, the volunteers are from inside the Group or local communities, and a large portion of the preparation is completed months in advance with on-ground partners.
This new approach to faith-based service, which combines corporate expertise with grassroots humility, provides a convincing example of how contemporary Indian companies may coexist peacefully with the nation’s spiritual traditions, whether in Prayagraj or Puri.
