Ahmedabad, 3rd April 2026: Athletes from the Adani Sportsline Academy won 98 medals across Speed Skating, Skateboarding, Tennis and Basketball in the 2025–26 season, competing at district, state and national events between April 2025 and February 2026.

The tally includes 33 gold, 32 silver and 33 bronze medals. Speed Skating accounted for the largest share with 23 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals, while Skateboarding contributed 10 gold, seven silver and three bronze medals.

Across India, grassroots sports programmes are growing fast. Many academies now focus on early training, fitness routines and mental strength. This approach helps young athletes stay consistent and handle pressure in competitions. Experts often say that starting structured training before the age of 14 improves performance by almost 30 percent in skill-based sports like skating and tennis.

In Tennis, Academy players secured podium finishes in 12 of 14 tournaments. Harsha Deshpande won the Under-14 Girls Doubles title at the All-India Championship Series in Ahmedabad, claimed the Gujarat State Ranking title at Adani Sportsline Riverfront Sports Park and won the Under-14 Girls Singles title at the All-India Championship Series in Jaipur. She also finished third at the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) District Tennis Tournament.

Youth tennis in India has seen strong growth in recent years. More players are taking part in national ranking tournaments, which helps them gain exposure at an early age. Coaches highlight that match experience matters more than practice alone. Playing 20 to 30 competitive matches in a season often builds confidence and sharp decision-making in young players.

In Speed Skating, Bhakti Khandhar represented Gujarat at national inline skating competitions on three occasions. She won 23 medals at the state level and five medals at Khel Maha Kumbh. This event is known as one of the largest sports festivals in India, where thousands of athletes compete across many disciplines. It gives young players a platform to test their skills against strong competition.

Speed skating is one of the fastest-growing sports in India, especially in states like Gujarat and Karnataka. Many athletes train for over two hours daily, focusing on balance, speed and endurance. Regular participation in state events helps them prepare for national-level races, where timing and technique play a key role.

In Skateboarding, Reyansh Mashettey won two gold medals at the Gujarat State Roller Skating Association Championship in Vadodara in November 2025. Skateboarding was added to the Olympics recently, which has increased interest among young athletes. Many urban training centres now include skate parks, helping beginners learn safely and progress quickly.

In Basketball, Sarathaya Patel, Taksh Patel, Jal Patel and Gaurav Agarwal were selected to represent Gujarat at the Under-19 Junior State level. Bhanvi Jesalpura represented the Gujarat Under-14 Girls team at the Sub-Junior National Championship in Dehradun in 2025.

Basketball training in India has improved with better coaching systems and fitness plans. Players now focus on strength training, agility drills and teamwork. Selection at the state level often requires consistent performance in district matches, along with strong physical fitness. Coaches also track players’ stamina and match awareness during trials.

Adani Sportsline Academy provides structured training, access to quality facilities and competitive exposure across disciplines, supporting the development of sporting talent in India.

Sports experts often stress that access to proper infrastructure, regular tournaments and experienced coaches can change a young athlete’s journey. Academies that offer all three create a strong pathway from school-level sports to national and even international competitions. The results from this season reflect how planned training and steady support can help athletes perform better and win consistently.
