Star India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant sustained wounds to his forehead, ligament damage in his right knee, and abrasions to his back after being involved in a horrible automobile accident early on Friday morning in Uttarakhand.
The cricketer, who was travelling alone when the accident occurred, broke the Mercedes windscreen to get out of the burning car when it started a fire.

Rishabh has two wounds on his forehead, a torn ligament in his right knee, as well as injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe and abrasions on his back, according to a statement from the BCCI.

“His status is stable, and he has been sent to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the full extent of his injuries.”

The cricketer played for the Indian squad that defeated Bangladesh in a Test series by a score of 2-0 earlier this month.

He had been scheduled to join the National Cricket Academy for a strength and conditioning programme in preparation for Australia’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy match in February but was recently cut from the T20I team named for the series against Sri Lanka.

After MS Dhoni’s retirement, Pant has been India’s go-to wicketkeeper in all formats and has been one of the country’s top batsmen in Test cricket for the past two years.
