Ahmedabad Airport Sees Big Jump in Passengers and Cargo

Ahmedabad, September 27, 2023: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, also known as SVPIA in Ahmedabad, is doing really well. More and more people are flying from there.

Till September 2023, over 5 million people have used this airport. That’s a 35% increase from the year before when 3.9 million people used it.

People are flying to many different places. Some of the top domestic destinations are Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Varanasi. And for international trips, people are heading to London (Gatwick), Doha, Singapore, and more.

The airport recently made some improvements to make travelers’ lives easier. They added new stuff like immigration counters and a better arrival area for international passengers. They also have more check-in counters and new boarding gates for domestic flights.

Not just passengers, but even cargo (things that are shipped by plane) has increased by 14%. The airport is handling more stuff, and they’re even getting ready to handle bigger things with a new machine. They are also sending packages to other countries like the USA, UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
