Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann assumed the position of Senior Air Staff Officer of Western Air Command, Indian Air Force. After graduating from the National Defence Academy, the Air Marshal joined the IAF on December 16, 1989, as a fighter pilot. He has more than 3000 hours of flight time, mostly on different kinds of fighter planes. Throughout his operational career, he has served as an attack instructor, chief operations officer of a forward post, air officer commanding of a premium fighter base, and commander of a fighter squadron. Additionally, he has held a number of significant positions at Command Headquarters and Air Headquarters. In 2017 and 2018, the Air Officer oversaw joint military training operations with the USAF and the Republic of Singapore Air Force. The Senior Officer-in-Charge of Administration and Air Defence Commander of Central Air Command were appointed by the Air Officer. The Air Marshal is also a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies and the esteemed Defence Services Staff College in London, UK.

He served as Director General (Weapon Systems) at Air Headquarters before becoming Senior Air Staff Officer, Western Air Command, Indian Air Force. The Air Officer has received the “Vayu Sena Medal” and the “Ati Vishist Seva Medal” from the President.
