Boyapati Srinu’s film Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, was released in December of last year and quickly became a great financial success. Both the actor and the director considered it to be a seminal work. It was acknowledged as the first Telugu movie to successfully revive theatre attendance following the pandemic-induced closure of theatres. After enjoying a triumphant theatrical run and an equally successful stay on OTT, Akhanda is now being recognized nationally. The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, 2022, will screen the film.

It will be shown in the Indian Panorama category, which picks the best modern Indian films. In a few hours, on November 24, Akhanda will be screened. Akhanda’s recognition by the 53rd edition of IFFI is a huge honour and a happy moment for the film’s creators.
Akhanda featured Balakrishna in a dual role and dealt with religious, devout, and mystical themes. Twin brothers who were separated at birth were portrayed by Balakrishna, one of them develops into an Aghora under the protection of Lord Shiva.
Every year, the top domestic and foreign films are presented at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). In 2004, Goa was chosen as the IFFI event’s permanent location. This year, it takes place from November 20 to November 28. The film festival will also feature the Telugu films RRR, Major, and Cinema Bandi in addition to Akhanda.
