Akkineni Nagarjuna is celebrating his birthday today. – Newzdaddy

He is an Indian actor, film producer, television presenter, and entrepreneur. He acted in more than 100 films, predominantly in Telugu, along with a few Hindi and Tamil language films. He won nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and two National Film Awards namely, for Ninne Pelladata (1996), for which he won the Best Feature Film in Telugu and a Special Mention as an actor for Annamayya (1997). On the occasion of his birthday, let us have a look at some of the interesting and unknown facts about Nagarjuna.

Nagarjuna acted as a child artist in a Telugu film. He made his debut as a child artist in the film Sudigundalu in the year 1968.

He studied Bachelor of Engineering. He also completed his MS in Automobile Engineering from Michigan University.

He was seen in the lead role in his first movie, Vikram.

Nagarjuna was first married to D Ramanaidu’s daughter, Lakshmi Daggubati in the year 1984. The couple got divorced in the year 1990. Nagarjuna has a son with his first wife named Naga Chaitanya. Then the actor again married actress Amala. They have a son named Akkineni Akhil.

Nagarjuna made his debut as a television producer in the year 2009 with the soap opera Yuva.

He hosted a popular quiz show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu.

Nagarjuna and his wife Amala are the co-founders of the non-government organization (NGO) Blue Cross of Hyderabad. The NGO works for the welfare of animals and the preservation of animal rights.

In the year 2010, Nagarjuna starred in an HIV/AIDS animated software tutorial created by TeachAID.

He acted in many Bollywood films like Khuda Gawah, Drohi, and Criminal and Tamil films like Ratchagan and Payanam.

Nagarjuna shared screen space with his father for the last time in the movie, Manam.
