India will play Sri Lanka in their third Day-Night Test at home in Bengaluru. The second IND against SL Test will begin on March 12th (Saturday).

Following the Karnataka government’s sanction for 100% attendance, the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka is expected to be played in front of a sold-out Bengaluru crowd. The match, which will take place at the famous M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 12th, will be a day-night affair (Saturday).

The state administration had previously allowed a 50% crowd capacity for the match. However, the organization sought official approval due to the increased demand for tickets. In addition, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state has dropped dramatically.

According to rumors, over 10,000 tickets for the first two days of the match have been sold. In addition,

and, in response to the increased demand, the KSCA has increased the number of tickets available.

“KSCA is pleased to report that viewing of India versus Sri Lanka Day-Night Test cricket match being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore from March 12-16, 2022 has been quite positive,” KSCA treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya said in a statement.

The daily ticket prices have been maintained at Rs 1250 (Grand Terrace), Rs 750 (E-Executive), Rs 500 (D Corporate), and Rs 100.

“Given the overwhelming reaction and the fact that there are no more restrictions for spectators,” the release read, “KSCA will open up ticket sales for the stadium’s full capacity.”

The stadium was originally set to host the opening Test match, which would have been former captain Virat Kohli’s 100th in the longest format, but it was swapped with Mohali to accommodate the Sri Lankan team’s direct trip back to Colombo from Bengaluru.

India took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series after winning the first Test by an innings and 222 runs. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship, which is currently underway.

The last time Bengaluru hosted a Test match was in June 2018, when Afghanistan made its Test debut.

India has played two Day-Night Test matches at home, both of which it has won: the first against Bangladesh in Kolkata in November 2019 and the second against England in Ahmedabad in February 2021.
