Boosting Women in Farming: How They Can Lead Agriculture

Newzdaddy Business Updates

In a recent online meeting, experts talked about how women can play a big role in farming and making sure everyone gets good food. They said now is a great time to make sure women have the same chances as men in farming. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to see more “Nari Shakti” (women power), and leaders from 20 big countries agree that women should lead the way in making things better for everyone.

Some of the smartest people who study farming and women’s issues talked to reporters from Haryana and Punjab. They wanted to share their ideas before a big meeting about these topics. The meeting will happen in New Delhi from October 9 to 12. It’s all about sharing new ideas and ways to make sure women have good chances to do well in farming and food.

One of the experts, Dr. Seema Jaggi, said that doing good research is really important to make good rules. She talked about a special place called the “Central Institute for Women in Agriculture,” where people study how women can do better in farming.

Another expert, Dr. Ranjitha Puskur, said that in India, there are already millions of women who own businesses in farming. But most of these businesses are small and only have one person working. If we can help more women start bigger businesses, it can create lots of new jobs.

In Haryana and Punjab, there are many chances for women to do well in farming. They can start businesses with cows and milk, sell farming supplies, or even make tasty food. These businesses can make a lot of money and help the whole community.

A speaker from Africa, Sabdiyo Dido Bashuna, talked about the problems women face when they want to do business in farming. She said women often don’t have enough money, and it’s hard for them to sell what they make. She thinks we should make it easier for women to get money and learn how to do business.

This meeting was organized by GreyMatters Communications and Fijeeha, a group that helps people talk about important topics. A lot of journalists joined the talk and shared their own ideas.

In short, the experts in this meeting said that women can do great things in farming and food businesses. We need to help them get the money and support they need to make it happen.
