BRDS Design Exhibition 2025 highlights the power of early skill-building

Ahmedabad hosted one of the most important creative education events in the country, the grand finale of India’s biggest Design Exhibition, the BRDS Design Exhibition 2025. Held on 14th December 2025 at the Shree Shakti Convention Centre on S.P. Ring Road, the exhibition marked the final stop of a nationwide journey that covered 14 major cities. The Ahmedabad edition stood out not only for its scale but also for the growing interest in design education among students in Gujarat.

Design exhibitions of this size play a vital role in helping students understand creative careers beyond traditional academic paths. In recent years, India has seen a sharp rise in demand for professional designers across sectors such as fashion, interiors, animation, user experience, automobile design, and visual communication. Industry reports suggest that creative industries contribute significantly to employment generation, especially among young graduates. Events like this exhibition help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world creative expectations.

Bhanwar Rathore Design Studio has been organising this exhibition every year across 15 cities, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Jaipur. This multi-city approach allows students from different regions to experience the same exposure without travelling far. It also reflects how design education is no longer limited to metro cities and is steadily growing in Tier-2 and Tier-3 locations.

The core idea behind the exhibition is design education awareness. Many students and parents still lack clarity about the wide range of design and architecture disciplines available today. Fields such as fashion and textile design, interior and architectural design, product and automobile design, graphic and animation design, photography, and fine arts are now recognised as strong career options. The exhibition helps students understand these paths through real student work rather than brochures or advertisements.

Skill development remains another strong focus of the exhibition. Experts agree that creative skills need early nurturing. Unlike rote learning, design education encourages observation, problem-solving, and original thinking. By showcasing work created by students at different learning stages, the exhibition highlights how structured coaching and practice can turn raw interest into professional-level output.

One of the most impactful aspects of the event was the platform it provided for young talent. With a footfall of over 10,000 visitors, students had the rare opportunity to display their artworks, 3D models, garments, and canvas paintings before a large and diverse audience. Such exposure helps build confidence and prepares students for design school juries, exhibitions, and client presentations in the future.

A major highlight of the Ahmedabad edition was the grand seminar by Dr Bhanwar Rathore, Founder and President of BRDS. His session focused on cracking competitive entrance exams such as NID, NIFT, NATA, and UCEED. These exams are known for their great difficulty level and low selection ratios. Dr Rathore also shared practical advice on building a strong design career, including portfolio preparation, discipline selection, and long-term planning. Sessions like these are especially valuable for students from non-design backgrounds.

The participation of over 50 design colleges and universities from across India added further depth to the exhibition. Representatives from these institutions interacted directly with students and parents, offering insights into admission processes, course structures, and career outcomes. Such direct interaction reduces confusion and helps families make informed decisions.

The sheer scale of student participation was evident through the display of more than 5,000 artworks, garments, and 3D models, along with over 250 canvas paintings. Each piece reflected hours of practice, creativity, and mentorship. Large-scale student exhibitions like this also reflect the evolving standards of design education in India, where students are encouraged to think globally while working locally.

Over the past 20 years, Bhanwar Rathore Design Studio has built a strong reputation as India’s leading institute for design and architecture coaching.
