Just a few weeks ago, the title of Tiger Shroff’s upcoming movie, Screw Dheela, was revealed. Tiger will return in the active role for the movie, which this time around would be directed by Shashank Khaitan. Now, however, there are rumours circulating that it has been shelved!
that the movie is having financial problems. According to a source, “director Shashank Khaitan and producer Karan Johar have chosen to postpone the movie. There were other factors at play. First of all, the movie is a large-scale action comedy with a $150 million budget. The teaser, however, didn’t quite receive the kind of feedback that the creators had hoped for. Tiger’s Heropanti 2 failed miserably, casting doubt on his influence at the box office. Last but not least, the current box office situation is dismal, especially considering how poorly Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan by Aamir Khan performed.
The insider continued, “With all of these considerations, it was felt by all the stakeholders that it’s not prudent to take this project into production at this time. Screw Dheela isn’t in a bookcase. The gang plans to see this movie at a later time when the box office climate is favourable.
The film Govinda Mera Naam, starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar, is Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming offering. There is no confirmation of the direct OTT release, despite reports to the contrary. Bedhadak, the debut film for Shanaya Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani, will also be directed by him. Also included will be Gurfateh Pirzada.
