CII Gujarat Annual Meeting 2024: Paving the Path for Prosperity
The CII Gujarat Annual Meeting 2024 convened industry stalwarts, policymakers, diplomats, and thought leaders under the theme of “Viksit Gujarat – Powering a Prosperous India.” The event aimed to outline strategies for Gujarat’s sustained prosperity and its contribution to India’s economic growth.
Keynote Address
Chief Guest Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Co-operation and MSME Industries, stressed the importance of addressing industry challenges through improved communication and tailored educational programs. He emphasized the need for courses that align with industry needs and advocated for field visits to provide students with practical exposure.
Investing in Research and Development
The minister also underscored the significance of increasing investment in research and development. He commended the proactive role of CII Gujarat State Council in highlighting design and innovation.

Darshan Shah, Chairman of CII Gujarat State Council, and Managing Director of Hitachi Hi-Rel Power Electronics, highlighted Gujarat’s potential as a land of opportunity. He emphasized the state’s robust infrastructure, business-friendly policies, and skilled workforce, positioning it to contribute significantly to India’s economy.

Shah emphasized the importance of leveraging Gujarat’s strengths to drive India’s economic growth. He highlighted the role of CII Gujarat in partnering with the state government to foster industrial growth, catalyze trade, and attract investment opportunities.
Aligning with National Vision
The CII Gujarat Annual Meeting aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Swati Salgaocar, Deputy Chairperson of CII Western Region, and President of VM Salgaocar & Brothers, emphasized Gujarat’s emergence as a technological and intellectual powerhouse.

Salgaocar highlighted Gujarat’s accelerated industrial growth driven by advanced technology, native entrepreneurship, and effective leadership. She emphasized the industry’s role as a driving force for inclusive, balanced, and sustainable growth.

Kulin Lalbhai, Vice Chairman of CII Gujarat State Council, and Executive Director of Arvind, emphasized Gujarat’s need to reinvent itself to achieve the vision of a developed India. He highlighted the importance of Gujarat’s leadership in sectors like renewable energy, hydrogen, and semiconductors to propel its economy to new heights.
