CA Final January 2026 Results reflect strength and hard work

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the results of the CA Final examination held in January 2026. Students from the Ahmedabad centre have delivered an impressive performance at the national level. Two talented students from Ahmedabad secured positions in the All India Rank list, bringing pride to the city. Harsh Himanshubhai Sonara secured All India Rank 9, while Namish Gautam Shah secured All India Rank 27.

The CA Final examination is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which is the statutory body responsible for regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy in the country. It was set up by an Act of Parliament in 1949. Over the decades, it has become one of the largest accounting bodies in the world. The CA Final is the last and toughest stage of the Chartered Accountancy course. Only students who clear the earlier levels and complete practical training are allowed to sit for this examination. Because of its high standards and strict evaluation process, even securing a rank is seen as a major national achievement.

At the Ahmedabad centre, a total of 635 students appeared for both groups together, out of which 88 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 13.86%. In Group 1, 872 students appeared, and 178 students cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 20.41%. In Group 2, 406 students appeared, and 18 students passed, making the pass percentage 4.43%. For comparison, Ahmedabad’s pass percentage was 23.18% in September 2025 and 19.35% in May 2025.

These numbers show how demanding the CA Final examination truly is. The course requires strong knowledge in subjects such as financial reporting, advanced auditing, direct and indirect taxation, strategic financial management and corporate laws. Students often study for long hours for several months. Many also attend coaching classes and mock tests to improve their performance. The sharp difference between Group 1 and Group 2 results suggests that some papers were more challenging this time. In recent years, ICAI has also focused on testing practical understanding instead of only theory, which has made the examination pattern more application-based.

At the national level, 22,293 students appeared for both groups across India, and 2,446 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 10.97%. With the January 2026 results, the country has added 7,590 newly qualified Chartered Accountants. The achievement of Ahmedabad’s rank holders has created a joyful atmosphere in the academic community.

The addition of 7,590 newly qualified Chartered Accountants is significant for the Indian economy. Chartered Accountants play a key role in financial reporting, taxation, auditing and corporate governance. They work in sectors such as banking, manufacturing, start-ups, multinational companies and government services. With India’s growing economy and expanding business environment, the demand for skilled finance professionals continues to rise. Newly qualified CAs also contribute to strengthening transparency and compliance in businesses, which builds trust among investors and the public.

In Ahmedabad, coaching institutes and commerce colleges have welcomed the results with pride. The city has long been known for its strong commerce and education base. Gujarat, as a state, has a vibrant business community, and many students aim to become Chartered Accountants to support family businesses or to build independent careers. Rank holders often become role models for younger students. Their success stories usually involve discipline, careful planning and strong support from family and teachers.

Experts say that while the pass percentage may appear low, it reflects the rigorous standards maintained by ICAI. The examination is designed to ensure that only candidates with a deep understanding and ethical grounding qualify. The training period, known as articleship, gives students practical exposure in audit firms and companies. This hands-on experience prepares them to handle real financial responsibilities after qualification.

For many students, clearing the CA Final is not just about passing an exam. It marks the end of a long academic journey that may take four to five years or more. The joy seen in Ahmedabad after the declaration of results shows how much effort goes into this achievement. Families, friends and mentors often share in the celebration.

With two All India Rank holders and several successful candidates, Ahmedabad has once again proved its strength in professional education. As the newly qualified Chartered Accountants step into the professional world, they carry with them not only degrees but also the responsibility to uphold financial integrity in the country.
