The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad (CAAA) received excellent feedback for its third articleship fair.

The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad (CAAA) successfully held its third articleship fair today at the Sports Club as part of a novel initiative to expedite articleship postings. The reception to the event was very positive. The event was attended in person by over 100 students, and 34 prominent CA businesses took part. The shortlisted candidates participated in organised interviews, which created a lively and valuable platform for both sides. Both participants and spectators expressed a great deal of appreciation for the event.

The Articleship Mela, which took place at the Sports Club, was a well-organised platform that allowed first-year CA students and article-seeking companies to connect in a meaningful and focused way. While CA companies supplied their selection criteria, students were invited to indicate their desired practice areas (such as audit, taxation, GST, and internal audit) and regional choices through a tech-enabled process. A smart dashboard was then used to map both sides, allowing for effective shortlisting and in-person interviews.

This was a much-needed change in the way article placements are handled, according to CA Rushabh Shah, President of the Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad. “This program guarantees that both students and employers are linked with the correct fit, boosting the odds of successful placements by removing randomness and introducing structure. Both CA candidates and the companies trying to develop the next generation of chartered accountants have benefited from it.

The Chief Coordinator of the Articleship Mela, CA Bishan Shah, emphasised the significance of a simplified and student-focused procedure. “Students could ask questions about the work culture, learning opportunities, and work-life balance at potential firms through this platform, in addition to showcasing their skills,” he continued.

This articleship fair was a huge success due to the hard work of CA Ashish Sharma, Secretary CAAA, and Coordinator CA Mayur Modha.
