In the heart of Ahmedabad, the Kar Foundation Trust recently orchestrated the 9th edition of the “Divyang Patang Mohotsav,” a Kite Festival aimed at providing a joyous platform for over 500 disabled children. This heartwarming event, held at the Annapurna Party Plot in Paldi, brought together children of diverse abilities for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the vibrant colours of flying kites.
Diverse Participation and Special Guests
The festival saw a remarkable turnout, with more than 500 disabled children actively participating in the kite-flying festivities. The presence of special guest Mr. Amitbhai Shah, MLA of the Alice Bridge area, added a touch of distinction to the event. Amid the fluttering kites and cheerful ambience, the spirit of inclusivity and celebration was palpable.
Central to the event was the presence of His Holiness Om Rushi Shri Priteshbhai, a beacon of inspiration for participants and an embodiment of the festival’s message — that disabled individuals can reach remarkable heights, much like anyone else. As a Divyang himself, His Holiness played a pivotal role in uplifting the spirits of the participating children, emphasizing the boundless potential within each of them.

The organizers, Mr. Kinjal Ashokkumar Shah and Mihir Ashokkumar Shah, trustees of the Kar Foundation Trust, left no stone unturned to ensure a holistic experience for the children. The efforts of Param Pujya Shri Priteshbhai Ashok Kumar Shah have not gone unnoticed, as he was honoured with the National Award for his exemplary service and dedication to the upliftment of specially-abled individuals. The “Omkar Foundation Trust,” established in 2014 under the guidance of Sant Shri Omrushi Priteshbhai, aims to extend assistance to physically and mentally challenged children, adolescents, and adults without any discrimination.
