Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha Returns with 5th Edition, Targets Plantation of 50,000 Trees Across Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad-headquartered textile-led diversified conglomerate Chiripal Group has launched the fifth edition of its flagship environmental initiative, Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha, reaffirming its commitment to making Ahmedabad greener and more sustainable. As part of this year’s campaign, the Group has set a target of planting 50,000 trees across the city between July 7 and August 15, 2026. Designed as a citizen-led movement, the campaign encourages residents to participate by registering through a Google Form (Scan the QR Code), following which saplings will be delivered to them by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for plantation.
Since its inception in 2022, Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha has evolved into one of Ahmedabad’s largest community-driven tree plantation initiatives. Over the past four editions, the campaign has facilitated the planting of more than 2 lakh trees across the city. With the addition of 50,000 trees this year, the total number of trees planted under the initiative is expected to reach 2.5 lakh, further strengthening Ahmedabad’s green cover and contributing to a healthier urban environment. The campaign was first launched on World Environment Day (June 5, 2022) by Mr. Ronak Chiripal, Promoter of Chiripal Group, who led the inaugural plantation drive.
A new sapling distribution drive is added as part of this campaign this year. This drive will be carried out across seven prominent locations in Ahmedabad, including Sabarmati Riverfront, Law Garden, Parimal Garden, Oxygen Park (SBR), Prahlad Nagar, AUDA Garden (Prahladnagar) and Shanti Asiatic School. By expanding its reach across public spaces and educational institutions, the initiative aims to encourage greater community participation while promoting environmental awareness among citizens of all age groups. The campaign seeks to inspire individuals, families, students and volunteers to actively contribute towards creating a greener and more liveable city.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Ronak Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group, said, “Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha is much more than a tree plantation drive. It is about nurturing an environmentally responsible mindset among the people of Ahmedabad. This initiative reflects our long-term commitment towards protecting nature and creating greener, healthier and more liveable cities. Every tree planted today contributes to a better future for generations to come. The overwhelming response over the past four years is a testament to the collective efforts of our employees, volunteers, citizens and partners.”
Through Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha, Chiripal Group continues to encourage citizens to play an active role in increasing Ahmedabad’s green cover and preserving the environment for future generations. By combining community participation with institutional support from AMC, the campaign has become a successful model of public-private collaboration that not only promotes tree plantation but also fosters environmental responsibility and collective action towards sustainable urban development.
