COLORS brings dinner-time drama with celebrity couples
Newz Daddy Entertainment Updates
With its family program “Pati Patni Aur Panga – Jodiyon Ka Reality Check,” COLOURS introduces a fresh generation of “dinner-tainment.”
REAL-ationship show lekar aa raha hain COLOURS, sirf reality show nahi! The first non-fiction television disruptor is back at it again, just after its 17th anniversary. “Laughter Chefs” delivered its last meal, but “Pati Patni Aur Panga-Jodiyon Ka Reality Check,” the channel’s first REAL-lationship show, continues the feast of “dinner-tainment.” The channel offers a generous portion of outstanding entertainment that takes Indian families beyond their primary objectives and deep into the commonplace masti and pangas of real-life celebrity marriages, all while disrupting the most revered institution of them, shaadi. Seven famous couples offer their hearts and homes to participate in enjoyable activities while competing against one another. The love languages, the effort, the small victories, the incomplete sentences, the absurd nicknames, and the pointless arguments that keep the relationship going are all shown on this reality show. Presenting Pati Patni Aur Panga… Jodiyon Ka Reality Check is Nivea Body Milk. Co-sponsored by Pour Home Air Fresheners, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Rajdhani Besan, Sugar Free Green, and Envy Perfumes. Beginning on August 2nd, Special Partner Vikram Tea, Colgate, and Catch Masale will air exclusively on COLOURS every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM.
Along with co-host and stand-up phenom Munawar Faruqui, Bollywood’s renowned queen Sonali Bendre will be filling in as host, bringing their signature flair to the panga. Favourite jodis, including Debinna Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary, Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, Avika Gor and Milind Chandwani, Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad, Geeta Phogat and Pawan Kumar, and Sudesh Lehri and Mamta Lehri, are joining this shaadiyaapa-filled ride. Sonali and Munawar’s funny chemistry earned them the nickname “The Sonu-Monu Show.” The first episode sets the tone with a lot of truth bombs, surprising debates, and playful taunting. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions as secrets are revealed, nerves are tried, and vulnerability emerges, from fights over who should manage the house to embarrassing situations that leave everyone in stitches. Notwithstanding their expensive outfits and ostentatiously ideal lives, these famous people bicker, fall in love, pout and pull pangas just like everyone else. Relationships are amazingly the same, even though celebrities’ lives are filled with stress from their families, housekeepers, and other real-life situations. Who has what it takes to prevail in the most entertaining couple’s matchup among all this pangebaazi?
According to JioStar’s Alok Jain, “COLOURS has always placed a significant wager on cutting-edge entertainment, and Pati Patni Aur Panga is a logical continuation of that magnificent heritage.” As a leader in the non-fiction industry in India, we have consistently demonstrated that television is not just important but also developing, flourishing, and here to stay. The first REAL-ationship show from COLOURS, Pati Patni Aur Panga, explores the underlying themes of companionship while bringing celebrities closer to the viewers. Through the texture of commonplace connections that our viewers will undoubtedly be able to relate to, the channel highlights what ties pati-patni together in this marriage of format and emotion. We are honoured to be at the forefront of this bold move, which marks the next phase of our dinner-tainment adventure. We thank our sponsors for their faith in this brand-new, exciting property and welcome them on board as members of the COLOURS family as well as valued partners.
“At Nivea, we’ve always believed that the strongest bonds are built on care, trust, and authenticity; values that resonate with the heart of Pati Patni Aur Panga,” stated Shweta Dalal, Marketing Director of Nivea India. We are thrilled to enter Indian homes as the presenting sponsor of this genuinely unique REAL-ationship show in a way that is accessible and refreshingly honest. This partnership with COLOURS gives us the opportunity to participate in a program that reflects the common pleasures and difficulties of friendship, creating new opportunities to meaningfully engage with our audience. We appreciate the channel’s cooperation and are eager to increase Nivea’s exposure and emotional appeal to a larger, more varied audience.
As the host, Sonali Bendre explains, “Pati Patni Aur Panga transports me to a realm that’s more authentic and emotionally intense than anything I’ve ever done on TV.” I’m experiencing raw emotion, heart-pounding laughter, and those unique moments that speak louder than large gestures—I’m not just presenting the show through tasks. These famous couples take the front stage and present themselves authentically. And that requires courage because it’s not easy to be vulnerable and let the public in on your relationship. However, that’s what makes this show so engaging and enjoyable. It’s like being invited into someone’s living room, when the ordinary becomes magical and there’s laughter. We achieve a lovely balance with me providing background and serenity, and Munawar contributing his contagious enthusiasm and wit. We are now eager to perform COLOURS’ first REAL-lationship show for audiences.
Ready to unleash the mayhem, “I get to be the official panga maker at Pati Patni Aur Panga, calling out all the towel crimes, kitchen mishaps, and those epic one-word replies that couples think they can get away with,” Munawar Faruqui stated. As the co-host who brings the panga, I’m taking over as the one who admits what most men are thinking but would never dare to say aloud. Sonali ma’am contributes the Patni perspective, the empathy, and the grace. I deliver the mayhem, the comebacks, and a dose of reality from the perspective of the pati. This show is fantastic because of that balance. The unpredictable nature of real relationships is captured in this show; one moment, these jodis are in perfect harmony, and the next, the panga surprises them! I believe India will love every moment of the show, which gives viewers a front-row seat to the highs and lows and in-betweens of married life.
