Ahmedabad is buzzing with excitement as the Cricket Premier League (CPL) returns for its second season from May 31 to June 14, 2025. Organised by the Chiripal Group, this league aims to uplift Gujarat’s domestic cricket scene by providing a structured platform for both seasoned Ranji Trophy players and emerging local talent.

The matches will be held at the SGVP Grounds on S G Highway, opposite Nirma University. The opening ceremony will be graced by esteemed guests, including HH Shri Balkrishnadasji Swami, Vice President of SGVP; Mr. Vikas Sahay IPS, Director General of Police, Gujarat; and Mr. Ajay Patel, Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association and Chairman of the Gujarat State Co-operative Bank and ADB Bank.

This season features six dynamic teams: Sabarmati Strikers, Ahmedabad Arrows, Karnavati Kings, Heritage City Titans, Narmada Navigators, and Gandhinagar Lions. The inaugural match between Heritage City Titans and Ahmedabad Arrows is scheduled for May 31 at 7:30 PM. The opening weekend will also showcase matches between Gandhinagar Lions vs Sabarmati Strikers and Karnavati Kings vs Narmada Navigators, setting the stage for two weeks of thrilling cricket action.

Mr. Rajit Divetia will serve as the Match Referee for the tournament. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) continues its support, ensuring official scores and video analysis for all matches. The league also introduces the “Impact Player” rule, which allows teams to make strategic substitutions during games.

Hospitality is a key focus, with outstation players and coaches being hosted at a leading 5-star hotel by the Chiripal Group. This gesture underscores the league’s commitment to providing a professional and comfortable environment for all participants.

Shri Narhari Amin, former GCA president and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), expressed his support: “I am happy to support passionate entrepreneurs like Ronak, Vansh, and Gorav who have created a platform like this to give opportunities to young, upcoming cricketers. Just like the IPL, I want this tournament to grow leaps and bounds and become one of the best leagues in India in the coming years.”
