The excitement is back! The second season of the Cricket Premier League(CPL) 2025 is all set to begin from May 31 to June 15, 2025, at the grand SGVP Grounds in Ahmedabad. This thrilling tournament is a proud initiative of the Chiripal Group, designed to bring out the best of Gujarat’s cricketing talent. With support from the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), CPL aims to create a platform for elite Ranji Trophy players and promising young talents to shine on a grand stage.

The excitement started on May 17, 2025, with a grand player auction at DoubleTree by Hilton, Ahmedabad. Six franchises gathered to build their dream teams. The teams for this season include:

To keep things fair and competitive, the CPL 2025 player draft was conducted over 12 rounds. The picking order for each round was decided by a random draw. This ensured that every team had an equal chance to build strong and well-balanced squads. Each franchise picked between 15 and 18 players, including openers, fast bowlers, spinners, and all-rounders, making sure every team had all the right talents.

During the event, Shri Narhari Amin, former GCA president and Member of Parliament, shared his thoughts:

“I am happy to support passionate entrepreneurs like Ronak, Vansh, and Gaurav who have created a platform like this to give opportunities to young, upcoming cricketers. I want this tournament to grow and become one of the best leagues in India.”

He also suggested the inclusion of under-14 and under-16 players in the future to nurture young talent.

Adding to this, Mr. Kirat Damani, Chairman of the Gujarat Ranji Trophy Selection Committee, said:

“This initiative bridges corporate structure with professional cricket, creating opportunities for Gujarat’s best. With 84 players from Gujarat and talents from outside, we are building something special.”

Mr. Ronak Chiripal, Promoter of Chiripal Group and Co-founder of CPL, expressed his pride in the league’s success:

“CPL 2025 is a powerful step forward. Our goal is to showcase Gujarat’s talent and create a premier platform for them. We are committed to elevating local stars to the national stage.”

Similarly, Mr. Gorav Jain, Promoter of Ashutosh Group and Co-founder of CPL, added:
