Gujarati film Damru set for 23 October theatrical release

Gujarati cinema will see the release of Damru on 23 October 2026, with the film combining comedy and drama with a mystery set inside a resort.

The film follows three bellboys, Damru, Vijay and Raj, whose lives become connected after guests with hidden motives arrive at the resort. According to the film’s published synopsis, a long-hidden secret comes to light and sets the characters on a race to uncover the truth. The film has been listed as a Gujarati comedy-drama and has a reported running time of 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The story places Sanjay Goradia in the title role of Damru. Nakshraaj plays Raj, while Nirav Mukesh Vaidya plays Vijay. Nirali Oza, Saurabh Rajyaguru, Sanjay Galsar, Maulik Chauhan, Hemang Dave, Makrand Shukla, Nischay Rana and Vishal Vaishya are also part of the cast. Published cast details list characters including Arohi, Vikram, Johny, Rathod, Tiger, Mantriji, Khurana and Lion.

Hardik J. Pareekh has directed the film. Rushikesh Thakkar and Nirav Joshi are credited as writers in the production information supplied for the film. Ramesh Prajapati, Krupa Soni and Sanjay Soni are the producers, working under Gujotsav Production and Vraj Films.

The film’s central setting gives the story a clear mystery element. The published synopsis says the three bellboys have their own secrets, while the visiting guests arrive with motives of their own. The discovery of the resort’s buried secret then changes the direction of the story. This places the film between a character-based comedy and a suspense drama rather than making it a straight family comedy.

The current film listings also place Damru within a busy run of Gujarati releases scheduled for 2026. Listings for the Gujarati film calendar include titles such as Mitrata, Amdavad Diary (A Canal Case) and Get Set Go around the September to November period. The release schedule shows a mix of comedy, drama, romance, crime and thriller films, indicating that audiences have several kinds of Gujarati stories to choose from during the second half of the year.

For Damru, the producers have also planned a promotional song as part of the film’s publicity campaign. Music director Parth Bharat Thakkar has composed the song, with Bhoomi Trivedi and Jaysinh Gadhavi credited as singers. Prince Gupta has directed and choreographed the song, while Suraj Kurade has handled its cinematography.

Dhruv Panchal is the cinematographer for the main film. Darshan Shah of Treehouse Studio is credited with the original soundtrack and background score, while Ravish Jain is the production manager.

The production has brought together performers and technicians who have worked across Gujarati entertainment. Sanjay Goradia is among the better-known names in the cast, while Hemang Dave, Maulik Chauhan, Nirali Oza and other members of the ensemble add to the film’s broad cast.

A song launch event is planned in Ahmedabad before the theatrical release. The day’s programme is scheduled to begin with the film team visiting a local temple to seek blessings, followed by the promotional activities connected with the song.

The October release also gives the film a place in the important festival-season period for cinema. Gujarati films compete for theatre space with Hindi and other Indian-language releases, making the timing of a release an important part of a film’s theatrical run. The final response from audiences will depend on factors such as screen availability, local interest, reviews and word of mouth after release.

There is already evidence of interest in the title on ticketing platforms. BookMyShow’s current listing records more than 160 people as interested in the film, although this figure can change before bookings open. The platform lists the film as Gujarati, with a UA13+ certificate classification, and confirms the 23 October release date in several city listings.

One point remains worth watching before the release: some online listings have carried earlier dates for Damru, including 31 July and 11 September. More recent BookMyShow listings currently show 23 October 2026, as does IMDb’s release information. The film’s release date should therefore be checked against the latest announcement from its makers and theatre booking platforms closer to October.

For Gujarati film audiences, Damru enters the market with a story built around three resort workers, mysterious visitors and a secret waiting to be uncovered. Its mix of comedy and suspense, supported by a large ensemble cast and a music-led promotional campaign, gives the film a distinct place among the Gujarati titles listed for the 2026 release calendar.

The film is scheduled to reach cinemas on 23 October 2026.
