Critical Review: Gujarati Movie “Deda” –

The movie “Deda” has a great cast. You’ll see Gaurav Paswala, Mehul Bhoj, Heli Shah, Sonali Lele Desai, and a small role by Chetan Daiya.

Deda Movie Review

As an experienced film critic, I’ve had the pleasure of watching “Deda,” a film that delves into the emotional landscape of a couple facing an unexpected crisis.

The plot centres around a couple expecting their first child. The husband, a book writer, finds himself entangled in a copyright infringement case, which severely impacts their financial stability. The core storyline then revolves around their struggle to gather funds for their baby’s delivery and navigate the ensuing personal and financial turmoil.

The acting in “Deda” is undoubtedly one of its strongest pillars. Gaurav Paswala delivers a truly impressive performance, particularly through his expressive eyes, which convey a multitude of emotions – the fear of a father, the despair of a writer. His ability to embody these complex feelings without much dialogue is commendable. Heli Shah, as his partner, is equally captivating. Her portrayal of a supportive and resilient woman, willing to stand by her husband through thick and thin, is incredibly moving and truly makes you root for her character. The chemistry between Gaurav and Heli is palpable, making their on-screen relationship believable and endearing. The supporting cast, including Mehul Bhoj, Sonali Lele Desai, and Chetan Daiya in his brief appearance, also contribute effectively to the narrative.

The direction and craft by Hema’s plan are largely commendable. The film’s cinematography and camera work are particularly noteworthy.

The opening sequence, featuring Gaurav’s escape, and a later chasing sequence, showcase impressive camera movements and angles, creating an immersive experience. The sound design and background music (BGM) are powerful, enhancing the emotional impact of various scenes, with the song “Turr Chal” being a standout. The screenplay is filled with powerful dialogues, and each frame is meticulously crafted to evoke emotions of love, emotion, and sentiment.

Positive Points:

Negative Points:

Overall, “Deda” is a heartwarming family drama that offers a compelling story of resilience and love. Despite a minor dip in the second half’s momentum, its strong performances, impressive technical aspects, and emotional core make it a worthwhile watch for those seeking a moving and relatable cinematic experience.
