Recently, Deepika Padukone spoke about mental health with Meghan Markle on her Archetypes podcast. The “Gehraiyaan” actress informed the Duchess of Sussex that following her disclosure of her struggle with depression, many people mistakenly believed she was endorsing a movie about the subject or a drug promoted by a pharmaceutical business. Deepika revealed in 2015 that she had struggled with depression and had sought treatment for it.

Deepika discussed the criticism she encountered when she initially spoke about mental health and activism on the podcast. Most people enthusiastically accepted the fact that she opened up about her difficulty, she said, adding that she had anticipated some of it.

“It appears as though a tremendous weight has been lifted from their shoulders. That at last, someone admitted that yes, there is such a thing as mental illness, but despite all your nice deeds, they’ll always sort of be that. There were a lot of people who believed that I was either being paid by a pharmaceutical company or that I was promoting a movie. There were also articles. They believed I was receiving compensation from a pharmaceutical business, and you know I’m about to start promoting some sort of medication. According to Deepika Padukone, the podcast.

Deepika added that now that she had grown stronger, she was grateful she had gone through that stage of her life. After saying this, Deepika continued, “I feel like life has a higher purpose that goes beyond my work and the money that comes with it. I’ve been through a ‘life and death situation.”

Deepika continued by saying that she now appreciates the small pleasures in life, such as hugging her sister and talking late into the night with her husband Ranveer Singh.

Deepika was most recently seen in the movie “Gehrayiaan” with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Along with “Pathaan” starring Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, Deepika also stars in “Fighter” opposite Hrithik Roshan. In “Brahmastra,” Deepika also had a fleeting cameo appearance. The Live, Love, Laugh charity for mental health was founded by the actress as well.
