Diplomas In Internal Security Boost SSB’s Border Skills

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) has awarded Diplomas in Internal Security and Border Management to 24 officials from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Alwar, Rajasthan. This significant event marks a key milestone in the ongoing collaboration between RRU and the SSB, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that includes accreditation and affiliation between the institutions.

This collaboration is part of a larger national effort to strengthen India’s border security forces through academic knowledge and modern training. SSB, one of India’s Central Armed Police Forces, plays a vital role in guarding the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan borders. Their work involves patrolling, intelligence gathering, stopping illegal activities, and maintaining peaceful relations with neighbouring communities. RRU’s specialised education gives these officers updated knowledge, preparing them to deal with new challenges like cyber threats and cross-border crimes.

The diploma ceremony, held recently, was hosted by Shri Sanjiv Yadav, DIG, SSB Alwar, who presided over the passing-out parade and presented the diploma certificates to the graduating officials. Officials from Rashtriya Raksha University were also in attendance, underscoring the strong partnership.

Passing-out parades are a proud tradition in India’s armed and paramilitary forces. It is a formal event where officers who finish training are honoured in the presence of senior officials. Such ceremonies build morale and give public recognition to the hard work and discipline of the officials. Under the terms of the signed MoU, Rashtriya Raksha University is committed to providing specialised training to SSB officials in critical areas such as Cyber Security, Internal Security, and Border Management. The awarding of these Diplomas in Internal Security and Border Management is a direct outcome and a vital component of this agreement.
Cybersecurity has become a key part of national security today. Border forces are not only protecting physical borders but also digital spaces. Threats like online radicalisation, fake documents, and data theft are increasing. Training in these areas helps officials respond to both on-ground and cyber threats quickly. Border Management training includes learning how to use new surveillance technology, handle emergencies, and cooperate with other national and international agencies to keep borders secure.

Rashtriya Raksha University, under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice Chancellor, consistently strives to work closely with all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
