Around 74 graduates from various academic programs, including the Fellow Program in Management (FPM), the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-E, and the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Innovation Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (PGDM-IEV), received diplomas and graduation certificates. The graduating class this year consists of 74 students from 12 states (64 students from the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Entrepreneurship program, 8 students from the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Innovation Entrepreneurship & Venture Development program, and 2 students from the Fellow Program in Management). 43 students in PGDM-E have written Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), while 21 students have completed their five-year Perspective Growth Plan. According to the student start-up innovation policy, students have also obtained grant sanctions. Small-scale wind turbines for commercial and residential use; software to address the daily problems of time management in a work environment; fast, safe, and reliable blood delivery; the installation of digital lockers in residential buildings that enable couriers to safely drop off packages and give residents mobile alerts so they can pick them up at any time; the beneficiation of iron ore in dry and practical ways to obtain a desirable ore grade and without using valuable water resources; innovative products for electrical efficiency & user comfort; and many other modern opportunities are just a few of the business domains that have been identified.
In an energising address, Dr. V.K. Saraswat gave the graduating students motivation by sharing insights about India’s developing and expanding entrepreneurial scene and how each of their contributions will aid in the development of the country. “Your sustained impact will be determined by your ability to navigate ambiguity, make decisions with incomplete information, and adjust strategies based on new realities,” he stated. In a globalised environment, cross-cultural communication is essential. Due to India’s linguistic, cultural, and economic diversity, businesspeople who can provide solutions that work in a variety of settings and populations are in high demand. Understanding how to collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds while preserving genuine Indian viewpoints is essential for global collaboration. He went on to say that every innovation, business, and solution you create should be evaluated not only for their financial success but also for their role in India’s overall growth. We are at a turning point in India’s history where the goal of a developed India by 2047, known as Viksit Bharat, is not only a government policy but a shared goal that needs to be primarily architected by entrepreneurs like you.
This year, in April, EDII commemorated its 43rd Foundation Day, according to Shri Rakesh Sharma, President-EDII & Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IDBI Bank Limited. Over the course of its more than 40-year history, the Institute has been instrumental in making entrepreneurship a well-known field. EDII continues to play a key role in spearheading and promoting this trend when the country discusses using entrepreneurship as a strategy to increase productivity, competitiveness, and general efficiency. The Institute’s national reach is encouraging entrepreneurial conduct across a wide range of individuals.
Since EDII’s founding, we have continuously sought to develop entrepreneurial talent that can lead with impact, integrity, and creativity, said Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General. By combining academic rigour with real-world experience, EDII’s carefully crafted curriculum gives students a thorough understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystems, strategic thinking, and moral leadership. I have no doubt that our students will soar to greater heights with the wings we have given them. Dr. Saraswat’s inspirational presence adds to this flight. Having him attend this convocation and mentor our students is a privilege.
The Director General of EDII, Dr. Sunil Shukla, gave a vote of gratitude to end the ceremony.
