Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter has received hesitant support from Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, who tweeted about it “… I believe Elon is the one-and-only solution. I have faith in his goal to spread consciousness.”

Elon Musk’s $44 billion purchase of Twitter has sparked debate over whether the deal is beneficial for one of the world’s most (if not the world’s) influential social media platforms. Twitter, which has been credited with a lot of good, including assisting on-the-ground relief efforts during times of disaster, is struggling with serious questions about content moderation in India and other nations. Musk, on the other hand, is a self-described “free-speech absolutist.”

has stated that he wants to alter what he considers to be an overly aggressive position in such things by a platform that previously banned former US President Donald Trump.

‘Did the Chinese government just gain a bit of leverage over the town square?’ asked Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, referring to a story by a New York Times reporter who pointed to connections between Tesla and the Chinese government.

The tweet came in response to a communication from NYT reporter Mike Forsythe:

“In relation to something:

-China was Tesla’s second-largest market in 2021. (after the US)

-Chinese battery manufacturers are significant Tesla EV suppliers.

-After China banned Twitter in 2009, the authorities had almost no control over the network. -This could be about to change.”

Bezos retweeted the message and added: “It’s a good question. Is it possible that the Chinese government has gained some control over the town square?”

“Free expression is the backbone of a functional democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where things crucial to the future of humanity are argued,” Musk stated in his first tweet after the Twitter purchase was revealed.

Bezos then went on to respond to the question he had posed.

“My own response to this question is most likely no. In this case, more complication in China for Tesla is more plausible than censorship on Twitter. But we’ll have to wait and see. Musk is a master at negotiating this level of complication.”

Twitter’s creator, Jack Dorsey, has posted his support for the latest chapter in the company’s history “… I believe Elon is the one-and-only solution. I have faith in his goal to spread consciousness.”
