Envision Energy India, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, has taken a major step in strengthening India’s clean energy journey. On September 24, 2025, the company held a groundbreaking ceremony for its 2 GW/PA Blade Manufacturing Facility at Kalyangadh, Bavla Taluka, in the Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. This new facility is part of a fresh ₹500 crore investment.

Envision Energy, headquartered in Shanghai, is one of the world’s largest green technology companies. It is well known for its wind turbines, battery storage solutions, and digital energy management platforms. In India, the company has been steadily growing its presence, aligning with the government’s focus on renewable energy.

Several dignitaries attended the ground-breaking event. Shri Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Kheda, Gujarat, was the Chief Guest. Shri Kiritsinh Sardarsang Dabhi, MLA from Dholka, Shri Om Prakash Jat, SP, Shri Durgesh Agarwal, Founder of DA Group, Shri Prateek Agarwal, Director of Ashwika Warehousing LLP, and S. H. Rana from Divya Estate Management were also present. Senior leaders of Envision Energy India, led by Mr RPV Prasad, Managing Director, joined the ceremony. Such participation highlights how industry, politics, and local businesses are coming together to support India’s renewable growth.

This new facility will be Envision’s third manufacturing site in India. The expansion directly supports the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” missions. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been encouraging global players to build factories in India, ensuring that the country reduces its dependency on imported equipment. With India targeting net-zero emissions by 2070 and 50% power from non-fossil fuels by 2030, such investments are timely.

The Gujarat facility will manufacture around 1,500 blades every year, using six moulds. These blades will be used in large wind turbines with 3.3 MW and 5 MW capacity. This means the factory will help generate more than 4 GW of wind energy projects across Gujarat and other parts of India. Wind energy already forms a key part of Gujarat’s renewable portfolio, and the state is also home to the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park at Khavda.

The plant is not only about technology but also about people. It is expected to create 3,000 direct jobs and more than 1,000 indirect jobs by 2027. Local employment will rise as the facility will integrate with nearby supply chains and boost ancillary industries such as logistics, raw material suppliers, and fabrication units. Skill development will also get a push, with many youth trained to handle advanced renewable energy equipment.

Speaking at the event, Mr RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India, said that this facility is an investment in India’s clean energy future. His words connect with the Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. For Gujarat, this facility is another feather in its cap as an industry-friendly state that already leads India in renewable energy capacity.

Shri Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan also emphasised that Gujarat offers unmatched ease of doing business. He stressed the importance of skill development and youth empowerment for India’s long-term growth. According to him, projects like Envision’s will not only strengthen clean energy adoption but also help India’s march towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Envision Energy is a global company with operations in over 20 countries. In India, it already runs facilities in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The Gujarat plant now adds to its footprint and showcases its long-term commitment to the country. Globally, Envision has supplied wind turbines that collectively generate more than 100 GW of electricity, making it one of the largest companies in this sector.

The ground-breaking of this Blade Manufacturing Facility marks a turning point in Gujarat’s renewable energy story. With advanced technology, local job creation, and alignment with India’s climate commitments, the plant reflects how international companies like Envision Energy are becoming important partners in building a greener future.
