Freedom Inspires Young Minds With Health, Dreams, Purpose
Newzdaddy Education Updates
This Independence Day, Visamo Kids Foundation joyfully hosted a vibrant and meaningful celebration in collaboration with La Forêt Education Charitable Trust, embracing the theme “Give the Gift of Freedom.” The event reflected not only the spirit of national pride but also the deeper values of health, education, and personal growth.
Visamo Kids Foundation started in 2002 after the 2001 Gujarat earthquake and supports over 100 children in a caring home that gives shelter, meals, counselling, and schooling in English medium schools like CBSE, ICSE, and state boards.
La Forêt Education, based in Ahmedabad, has grown into a strong institution offering English and French language training (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, DELF, TEF-TCF). It reached over 1,000 students and expanded into English test prep, showing continual growth.
The morning began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by cultural performances by the children of Visamo, dances, songs, and speeches that paid tribute to India’s journey and the role young citizens play in shaping its future.
Flag hoisting is a traditional Independence Day start in schools and NGOs across India. Children’s cultural programs help build pride and confidence, fostering respect for history and unity—even at a young grade-school level.
We were privileged to be joined by three distinguished guest speakers:
Shri Yogesh Gadhvi, an iconic Gujarati folk singer, connected with the children through patriotic songs and stories of India’s cultural strength.
Folk singers like Yogesh Gadhvi carry on the Gujarati heritage with energetic folk music. Music is a powerful way to teach unity and roots, and makes learning about freedom fun and memorable for kids.
Smt. Sonali Mohanty, Director of HR & Operations, Malbek Software LLP, encouraged the children to nurture ambition and believe in their inner potential.
Leaders from tech companies such as Malbek inspire children by showing how hard work, learning, and inner belief can lead to even big jobs in technology and operations, showing that people from Ahmedabad can aim high.
Shri Shylesh Damodaran, Assistant Commissioner (Vigilance), CGST, delivered a deeply thoughtful and moving message about the importance of life, health, and self-discipline. He emphasised, “True freedom lies not only in living in an independent country but in having a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a meaningful purpose. Value your life, take care of your health, and use your education to become strong pillars of the nation.”
CGST officers help protect public resources through vigilance. Their message about health, discipline, and a peaceful mind applies especially to young children—helping them understand that freedom starts within themselves.
The presence of such speakers created a lasting impact on the children and staff alike, reminding us that freedom is not just political, it is also personal: freedom from ignorance, illness, and fear.
Many education programs stress that freedom includes knowledge, health, and confidence. When children feel safe, healthy, and educated, they grow into strong, hopeful citizens.
Visamo Kids Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to La Forêt Education Charitable Trust for their continued support in empowering children through meaningful experiences. Together, we are shaping a generation that values not just independence, but also well-being, empathy, and integrity
Partnerships between NGOs like Visamo and educational trusts like La Forêt help deliver well-rounded programs. These collaborations help ensure children get not only schooling but life skills and emotional support—supporting their health and dreams.
