Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University Organised Orientation Programme for New Physiotherapy Students
Venus Institute of Physiotherapy welcomes a New Batch of Physiotherapy Students for the 2025–26 academic session
 The Venus Institute of Physiotherapy, under Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, recently organised an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students at the university’s seminar hall. The event was aimed at familiarising students with the institute’s academic structure, campus facilities, and innovation-driven learning environment.

Orientation programmes help new students settle in by showing them how and where to access resources such as labs, libraries, and student services. The mention of an “innovation-driven learning environment” aligns with Swarrnim University’s stated vision of combining academics with startup and entrepreneurial culture.  For physiotherapy students, getting acquainted early with campus facilities is especially important because the programme involves labs (anatomy/physio) and clinical exposure; the Venus Institute of Physiotherapy highlights such infrastructure.

The programme began with registration and a welcome address by Dr Nehansi Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Venus Institute of Physiotherapy, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony and a prayer performance by students. The lamp-lighting ceremony is a traditional academic ritual in many Indian institutions, symbolising the bringing of knowledge and light into the educational journey. A welcome address by a faculty member helps students feel acknowledged and comfortable, setting a positive tone for their studies.

A prayer or cultural element allows all students—often from diverse backgrounds- to unify at the start of their journey, supporting inclusivity and community. Dignitaries present during the ceremony included Dr Hiren Kadikar, Registrar; Mr Jaimin Patel, Deputy Registrar, Health Science Department; and Prof. Dr Harsh Trivedi, Associate Academic Director, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, along with Mr Gaurav Sharma, Assistant Manager – Incubation, and Mrs Anuja Gupta, General Manager – Training and Placement. Faculty members Dr Aijaz Siddiqui, Dr Sohel, and Dr Tanuja Pandya also addressed the students.

The presence of senior administrators (Registrar, Academic Director) signals institutional commitment to the new batch and reinforces that the programme is taken seriously. Including the Incubation Manager and Training & Placement head shows that the orientation is not only about classroom work but also about preparing for future careers and innovation ecosystem opportunities. This ties to the “startup & innovation” ethos of the university. Faculty addresses help to personalise the institution: new students meet, hear from, and see the people who will guide them through their academic path. Orientation briefings were carried out by Dr Nehansi and Dr Aijaz, followed by sessions from the Placement and Innovation and Entrepreneurship departments of the university. Students were then taken on a campus tour led by Dr Jaynesh, concluding the day with an interactive activity session.

Briefings by faculty typically involve reviewing the curriculum, assessment methods, schedules, and expectations – important so students feel informed from day one. For a physiotherapy programme, this might include explanation of labs, clinical postings, practicals and internships.
