The former India quick bowler Ashish Nehra might be Ahmedabad IPL franchise’s head coach for the 2022 Indian Premier League season while England opener from the past Vikram Solanki is slated to be named as Director of Cricket.
The Indian World Cup winner and ex- India Coach Gary Kirsten will be the “Mentor” for the franchise, which is expected to receive its official ‘Letter Of Intent’ (LOI) during the month of April.

Both have enjoyed an extended and successful working relationship from the time when Nehra was an athlete and Kirsten his coach for the national team.
Nehra has a wonderful relationship even with Solanki who has been working before as a coach for IPL.
When it receives the green signal from BCCI The franchise will then choose some assistant coaches.
Nehra was absent in the coaching profession for two years because he was deciding to take the job only if he could meet the qualifications of a head coach in which there is a chance to be a significant influencer both in the team’s composition and approach.
There were multiple offers from different IPL franchises, but it’s believed that the ex-left-handed pacer was more keen to take on the challenge of creating the perfect team starting from beginning from scratch.
