Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was slated to work once more with director Aanand L Rai on Gorkha after Atrangi Re and Raksha Bandhan.
But according to recent sources, Kumar decided against it. Rai later emphasized that “technical concerns” were the reason the project was put on hold.
Khiladi Kumar does, however, have a number of additional films in his schedule that are in various stages of production.

‘Selfiee’

Selfiee, which will be released on February 24, will feature Kumar and Emraan Hashmi. The movie, which is billed as a comedy-drama, also prominently features Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharucha. Raj Mehta, who had success with his earlier film JugJugg Jeeyo, is the film’s director. The Hindi version of the Malayalam film Driving Licence is titled Selfiee.

In “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”

Bade Miyan is billed as an action-packed performer. Along with Kumar, Tiger Shroff is a featured actor in Chote Miyan. Earlier, Kumar said on Instagram that Prithviraj Sukumaran will play a significant part in the movie.
The movie is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has previously worked on the movies Gunday, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ Hindi remake

Kumar will play the lead role in the Hindi adaptation of Suriya’s Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which won a National Award. Sudha Kongara, who also oversaw the earlier version, will oversee the new one. In the film, which will be produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, Radhika Madan will play Kumar’s co-lead. The project also involves Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment.

The “Capsule Gill”

In Capsule Gill, Kumar will team up once more with Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment.
The movie would be based on the life of Jaswant Singh Gill, a chief mining engineer who, in 1989, in West Bengal’s Raniganj Coalfields, rescued 64 trapped miners.

Parineeti Chopra will co-star in the film, which will be directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.
