The Congress High Command has officially sanctioned the appointment of new District and City Congress Committee Presidents in Gujarat. This important decision concludes a rigorous organisational exercise, reflecting a concerted effort to fortify the party’s presence at the grassroots.
This comprehensive campaign was fundamentally designed to rejuvenate the party structure, from the very booth level up to the district echelons. It meticulously focused on selecting leadership through a transparent, inclusive, and ideologically grounded process. Senior party observers, acting on behalf of the High Command, undertook extensive field visits across all constituencies and blocks. They engaged deeply with party functionaries, civil society, and local communities, conducting thorough assessments to gauge the organisational pulse. Here is the list.
Hon’ble Congress President has approved the appointment of the District and City Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents in Gujarat, with immediate effect. These appointments conclude a rigorous organisational exercise under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
The Abhiyan, launched to revitalise the party structure from booth to district level, focused on transparent, inclusive, and ideology-based leadership selection. On April 12, 2025, 43 AICC Observers and 183 PCC Observers—comprising senior leaders, including State In-Charges, MPs, MLAs, and former PCC Presidents—were deployed across all districts of Gujarat.

In the days that followed, AICC Observers, along with PCC Observers conducted field visits across all 26 Lok Sabha constituencies, 182 Assembly segments, and almost all 235 Block Congress Committees. They engaged with party workers, civil society, and local communities through public interactions, one-on-one meetings, and press conferences to assess the organisational ecosystem.
The newly appointed DCC Presidents represent Gujarat’s social and regional diversity and have been chosen for their grassroots connection, ideological clarity, and organisational ability. This exercise, conducted under the direction and monitoring of Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Shri Rahul Gandhi, marks a significant step in preparing the party for the 2027 Gujarat Assembly Elections.
The newly appointed DCC Presidents have been strategically chosen to reflect Gujarat’s rich social and regional diversity. Their selection underscores a commitment to leaders with deep grassroots connections, clear ideological conviction, and proven organisational acumen.
