SYNOPSIS OF THE ARTICLE

In a significant move to boost its presence in Gujarat’s healthcare sector, Sterling Accuris Diagnostics, one of India’s fastest-growing chains of NABL-accredited labs, has acquired the well-known Gujarat Pathology Laboratory and Maha Gujarat Pathology Laboratory based in Ahmedabad. This acquisition marks a major milestone for Sterling Accuris as it continues to expand its footprint across India, especially in key cities like Ahmedabad.

Founded in 2015, Sterling Accuris has built a strong reputation for providing ethical, accurate, and timely diagnostic services. With a presence already established in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, the acquisition is expected to significantly strengthen Sterling’s position in Ahmedabad and allow it to serve even more patients efficiently.

Gujarat Pathology Laboratory has been a household name in Ahmedabad for over 27 years. Since starting in 1998, it has grown steadily, operating 8 laboratories and over 20 collection centres, and has proudly served nearly 20 lakh patients. The lab offers a wide variety of services, from Hematology and Biochemistry to Immunology and Molecular Biology. It is widely respected for its accurate reports and patient-friendly services.

With the integration into Sterling Accuris, Gujarat Pathology will now be able to benefit from cutting-edge technology, advanced IT platforms, and a wider national network, all aimed at improving patient care.

Mr Rajiv Sharma, Managing Director of Sterling Accuris, shared his thoughts on the acquisition:

“Gujarat Pathology Laboratory has an excellent reputation in Ahmedabad. This partnership will help us serve more people by combining their local strengths with our wider network and resources. Together, we will be able to offer more advanced diagnostics and ensure timely reports for all patients.”

Mr Ankush Gupta, CEO of Sterling Accuris, added:

“This is our fourth acquisition in two years. The Indian diagnostics sector is growing fast, and the pathology segment alone is expected to grow at a rate of 14% per year till 2030. With this acquisition, we’re well-positioned to meet this growing demand and set new benchmarks in diagnostics.”

The founders of Gujarat and Maha Gujarat Pathology Labs also welcomed the move. Dr. Niraj Kothari, Vishnubhai Patel, and Mr. Navinbhai Patel expressed confidence in the collaboration.

“We have always aimed to provide accurate and affordable diagnostic services. Joining hands with Sterling Accuris means we can now do this on a much larger scale. With their advanced technology and systems, we are excited about the future,” they said in a joint statement.

Sterling Accuris today operates more than 75 labs and over 300 collection centres across India. It has embraced modern technology to stay connected with patients through mobile apps, multilingual chatbots, an informative website, and a centralised customer support centre. The goal is to make diagnostic services more accessible and user-friendly for everyone.

Adding to its strength, Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia has invested in Sterling Accuris Wellness Private Limited, further boosting its credibility and growth potential.

This acquisition reflects a growing trend in the diagnostics industry: established regional labs are partnering with larger national players to ensure better services, quicker reports, and access to advanced testing technologies.

With this strategic step, Sterling Accuris aims to expand its network and raise the quality of diagnostics across Ahmedabad. Patients in the city can now expect a seamless blend of local trust and national-level service quality—a win-win for all.
