The program, meticulously structured to cover all essential aspects of the recruitment process, aims to provide aspirants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed. Gujarat Police recruitment is known to be highly competitive, with thousands of candidates applying for a limited number of posts every year. Many aspirants struggle not because of a lack of effort, but due to poor guidance, weak physical training, or limited access to proper study material. Programmes like this one by RRU aim to bridge that gap by offering structured and focused preparation under one roof.
The School of Internal Security and SMART Policing plays a key role in shaping modern policing education in India. SMART policing focuses on being strict and sensitive, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, and tech-friendly and trained. These ideas are now part of police reforms across the country, and RRU has been at the centre of promoting them through training and research.
Written examinations for Gujarat Police posts usually test basic subjects such as reasoning, general knowledge, current affairs, and language skills. Many candidates find it hard to manage time or understand exam patterns. Regular mock tests and test series, as planned in this programme, are known to improve speed, accuracy and confidence. Repeated practice also helps candidates understand their weak areas early.
Physical tests are often the biggest hurdle for aspirants. PET and PST require stamina, strength and discipline. National-level training institutes usually stress gradual and scientific fitness training to avoid injuries. With access to a proper sports complex and medical support, candidates are more likely to train safely and meet required standards.
Learning from retired senior police officers is another strong feature of this programme. Such officers bring real field experience, practical examples and clear advice on handling pressure, discipline and ethics. This kind of mentoring often helps candidates understand police work beyond exams and uniforms.
The location of RRU in Gandhinagar also matters. Being close to Ahmedabad and Dehgam makes it reachable for candidates from different parts of Gujarat. Facilities like subsidised meals and transport reduce daily stress and allow aspirants to focus on preparation.
Certificates from recognised national institutions often add value to a candidate’s profile. While selection depends on exams and tests, such certification reflects seriousness, training and exposure to a professional environment.
Overall, the 75-day programme reflects a growing trend where police training starts even before recruitment. With rising expectations from law enforcement, early and proper preparation is becoming essential. For many aspirants, this initiative could be a disciplined and guided path towards wearing the Gujarat Police uniform.
