Hanuman Jayanti Ahmedabad: Faith, Power, Emotions Rise
Hanuman Jayanti Shows Strong Faith and Emotional Energy at the temple
A strong sense of devotion was seen from early morning as many devotees gathered to have darshan of Shri Nagarvel Hanuman at the ancient temple on Amaraiwadi–Rakhial Road in Ahmedabad, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. This early rush is common across India, as many people believe that the best time to pray is during the early hours before sunrise, known as Brahma Muhurta. It is said that Lord Hanuman was born around sunrise, so devotees prefer to visit temples early in the morning to feel a deeper spiritual connection.

Devotees came in large numbers to offer sindoor, oil, flowers, garlands, prasad, and coconuts to Hanumanji. They felt blessed and happy after the darshan. These offerings are not random. Sindoor and oil have a special meaning in Hanuman worship. It is believed that Hanuman once covered his body in vermillion as a sign of love and devotion to Lord Ram, and since then, devotees offer sindoor as a symbol of faith and protection. Offering sweets and coconuts is also a way to show respect and gratitude.
At the temple, the morning began with Utthapan Aarti and Triyajan rituals, followed by flag hoisting and recitation of the Sundarkand. At noon, from 12:00 to 12:30 pm, the Hanuman Jayanti Aarti was performed. Bhajans and kirtans were sung, and Chhappan Bhog Annakut was offered. Along with this, Mahaprasad (community meal) and Maruti Mahayagya were also organised. Across India, similar rituals are seen during Hanuman Jayanti. Devotees gather in temples, chant the Hanuman Chalisa, and read the Sundar Kand from the Ramayana. These prayers are believed to bring peace, courage, and strength to those who take part.
The idea of offering food like Chhappan Bhog and organising community meals has a deeper meaning. It brings people together, no matter their background. Many temples across the country arrange such meals so that everyone can share food and blessings equally. This also reflects the value of service, which is strongly linked to Lord Hanuman’s life, as he is known for his selfless devotion and service to Lord Ram.
On this occasion, the temple’s Mahant, Shri Ranganathacharyaji Maharaj, addressed the devotees. He spoke about the importance and greatness of Hanumanji. He said that many devotees had gathered at the temple to seek blessings and celebrate the festival with full devotion. Such spiritual talks are a common part of Hanuman Jayanti celebrations. In many temples, discourses start from early morning and continue through the day, helping people thoroughly understand the teachings of Hanumanji.
He explained that Hanuman Jayanti is a special time to worship Hanumanji and to gain success, happiness, and prosperity through devotion and discipline. This belief is widely followed. Many people observe fasts, offer prayers, and spend the day in worship. It is believed that sincere devotion on this day can remove fear, stress, and problems from life and bring inner strength and calmness.
Hanumanji is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, carrying both Rudra and Shiva qualities. This belief is deeply rooted in Hindu tradition. Many religious texts describe him as a powerful form of energy who represents both strength and control. Because of this, devotees see him not only as a god but also as a guide who teaches discipline, courage, and loyalty.
Remembering Hanumanji gives strength, fame, wisdom, awareness, and courage. With his power and intelligence, Hanumanji removes the troubles of his devotees. That is why he is known as Sankatmochan, the remover of problems, and a giver of good fortune. Across India, people chant his name and read prayers like the Hanuman Chalisa to feel protected and strong. Many believe that regular prayer helps them stay calm and confident during difficult times.
By his blessings and darshan, devotees feel a positive energy and strength in their hearts. Hanumanji is known as the god of power and strength, and he is believed to be present even in this Kaliyug. This strong faith is the reason why large numbers of people continue to visit temples every year during Hanuman Jayanti. For many, it is not just a festival, but a day to feel hope, strength, and a fresh start in life.
