The Indian Coast Guard commemorates World Blood Donor Day 2025 throughout the North West.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) demonstrated its unwavering dedication to humanitarian service by holding a number of volunteer blood donation camps around the North West Region in honour of World Blood Donor Day 2025. ICG employees, their families, and civil stakeholders enthusiastically participated in these camps, which echoed the global theme “Give Blood, Give Hope – Together We Save Lives” and emphasised the significance of voluntary blood donation.

On June 13, 2025, Shri Rajesh M. Tanna, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Devbhoomi Dwarka, officially opened a large camp at ICG Station Vadinar. The admirable cause was supported by employees of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), and ICG.

Along the Gujarat coast, additional ICG stations held similar efforts in ICGS Okha, ICGS Pipavav, and ICGS Veraval—the latter with help from Junagadh Medical College. On June 14, 2025, ICGS Gandhinagar organised a camp in partnership with GMERS Government Hospital, Gandhinagar.

In addition to encouraging compassion, unity, and group responsibility, the campaign aimed to increase public awareness of the vital role that volunteer blood donation plays in healthcare. More than 120 donors supported the cause across all participating Coast Guard units in the area, greatly boosting local blood supplies and providing a noble example of service beyond duty.

The Indian Coast Guard remains at the forefront of nation-building and humanitarian outreach initiatives as an armed force tasked with maintaining safety and security in the maritime realm. The ICG’s unwavering dedication to preserving life, both ashore and at sea, is demonstrated by these blood drives.
