Indian Coast Guard Honors Yoga Day with Unity
Newz Daddy Defence Updates
The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated enthusiastically by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) at all of its Gujarati stations.
While District Headquarters in Porbandar and Okha, as well as ICG Stations in Veraval, Pipavav, Mundra, Vadinar, Jakhau, and Surat, organised festivities to honour the day, the Regional Headquarters (North West) spearheaded the yoga effort in Gandhinagar.
Yoga adoption among ICG employees and their families has been continuously promoted by the organisation. Employees in demanding and fast-paced operational tasks have found that incorporating yoga into their regular physical training regimens improves their flexibility, strength, balance, and mental clarity.
To promote a wellness culture among its ranks, the ICG started regular yoga practice sessions on June 16, 2025, in the lead-up to the festivities. Women and children’s participation in this year’s observance increased significantly, broadening the initiative’s reach even further. In the weeks prior, community outreach initiatives were also carried out to raise awareness of the advantages of yoga and to promote increased public participation.
The activities were carried out with discipline and harmony, highlighting the all-encompassing approach to wellbeing that yoga represents.
The Indian Coast Guard reaffirmed its dedication to encouraging mindfulness and healthy living among its personnel and the general public through these festivities.
