IOC President Praises Reliance Foundation for Promoting Olympic Values

Mumbai, October 12, 2023: In a meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board in Mumbai, IOC President Thomas Bach expressed his admiration for the work of Reliance Foundation and its Chairperson, Mrs. Nita M Ambani. He specifically highlighted his visit to the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Academy in Navi Mumbai, which left a profound impact on him.

During the visit, President Bach, along with his colleague Nita Ambani, had the opportunity to witness the incredible programs offered by the Reliance Foundation to children and young people in India. He was particularly impressed by the fact that these programs are open to kids from all across India, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. The children not only receive education and schooling but also get the chance to train and pursue their dreams of becoming high-level athletes.

Earlier in the week, the International Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Olympic Museum, joined forces with Reliance Foundation to strengthen the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) in India. They signed a new cooperation agreement, highlighting their shared commitment to promoting Olympic values through sports, particularly among young people. The agreement was established during Mr. Bach and Nita Ambani’s visit to the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) football academy in Mumbai, an initiative that Mr. Bach commended.
