Kajol’s Emotional Storm Returns in The Trial Season 2

Newz Daddy Entertainment Updates

Kajol is back on screen, and this time, her storm is bigger than ever. The much-awaited trailer of The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha Season 2 has just been released, leaving audiences thrilled and eager for its premiere on JioHotstar from September 19, 2025. Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Banijay Asia, the series continues its intense blend of courtroom drama, personal struggles, and emotional turmoil.

Season 1 of The Trial showed Noyonika Sengupta (Kajol) stepping into the courtroom after her husband’s corruption scandal destroyed their family’s peace. From being a timid housewife, she transformed into a lawyer who fought for justice and her dignity.

In Season 2, however, things get even more complicated. Noyonika is no longer just a lawyer and mother trying to hold her family together; she is a woman torn between love, law, and loyalty. Her husband Rajiv (played by Jisshu Sengupta) is climbing the ladder of political power, but his ambitions are threatening to break their family apart. At the same time, the law firm Noyonika works for is full of secrets, betrayals, and power struggles.

Adding to her troubles is a tangled love triangle, where matters of the heart clash with questions of duty and self-respect. Season 2 asks one big question: Will Noyonika stay loyal to the life she knows, or risk everything to choose herself?

Speaking about her role, Kajol said, “This season is darker, deeper, and far more personal. Noyonika isn’t just fighting legal battles—she’s fighting to keep her world from falling apart. What I love about her is that she doesn’t have all the answers, but she keeps going with grit and heart. Season 2 isn’t just a continuation, it’s a reckoning.”

Her words reflect the emotional intensity this season promises. Noyonika is a character who embodies strength, pain, and resilience, making her journey relatable for many women juggling family, career, and identity.

The new season brings back familiar faces and introduces stronger storylines. Apart from Kajol and Jisshu Sengupta, the show features Sonali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, Gaurav Pandey, and Karanvir Sharma. Each plays a pivotal role in shaping Noyonika’s journey through love, betrayal, and truth.

Jisshu Sengupta, who plays Rajiv, shared, “Rajiv is at a turning point. His ambitions have grown, but so has the cost of chasing them. The dynamic between him and Noyonika is intense—it’s love, regret, and resentment all rolled into one.”

Director Umesh Bist explained that Season 2 raises the stakes not only in the courtroom but also in Noyonika’s personal life. “It’s a layered story about power, identity, and the personal cost of standing up for oneself. Balancing the high-paced legal drama with her emotional journey was the biggest challenge, but also the most rewarding part.”

Deepak Dhar, Founder & CEO of Banijay Asia, shared his excitement: “This isn’t just a continuation but a bold leap forward—with higher stakes and more intense emotions. Season 2 will push the boundaries of storytelling with its twists and revelations.”

On the streaming side, Alok Jain of JioStar said that the show reflects the platform’s goal of creating bold and layered stories that entertain but also challenge viewers to think about power, choice, and identity. Sushant Sreeram, SVOD Head & CMO at JioStar, added that such adaptations bring global storytelling formats to India, while making them deeply personal and culturally relevant.

The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha is based on the U.S. series The Good Wife, created by Robert and Michelle King, produced by CBS Studios, and backed by Hollywood icons like Ridley Scott. By adapting it for Indian audiences, the show retains the same spirit of powerful storytelling while being deeply rooted in India’s culture and emotions.

The trailer hints at an emotional storm waiting to sweep viewers off their feet. Fierce courtroom battles, messy relationships, political ambition, and a woman’s fight for her identity. Season 2 has all the ingredients of a binge-worthy drama. Fans of Kajol are especially excited to see her portray a character full of depth, grit, and vulnerability.

With its release just weeks away, all eyes are now on September 19th, when The Trial returns to screens. One thing is certain: Noyonika Sengupta is about to face the toughest fight of her life, and audiences can’t wait to witness it.
