Kargil Vijay Diwas Run: More Than Just Miles It’s a Tribute from the Heart

Today’s Kargil Vijay Diwas Run, sponsored by Chiripal Group, saw over 2000 participants, providing an inspirational demonstration of solidarity and patriotism at the Gandhinagar Military Station. The ceremony celebrated the bravery and sacrifice of the country’s armed personnel and took place on the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War in 1999.

The run included two divisions: a 5 km race that started and ended inside the gorgeous military base, and a 10 km race that started at 6:00 a.m. Along the picturesque path, which was marked with Indian Army insignia and encircled by abundant flora and fauna, such as peacocks and nilgai, civilians, members of the armed forces, veterans, and students ran alongside one another.

“The tremendous turnout for today’s run is evidence of the nation’s steadfast respect for our Kargil heroes,” stated WG CDR ABHISHEK KUMAR TIWARI, Ministry of Defence, Defence PRO. The Kargil Vijay Diwas Run honours the bravery and sacrifice of our heroes in a way that goes beyond just athletics. We are grateful to all of our partners who helped make today a memorable one.

Cyruns served as the event’s technical advisor, DD News and DD Girnar as news partners, and Radio Mirchi as radio partner. Along the route, hydration stations, emergency services, and medical teams were set up to guarantee everyone’s safety.
