Sub: Disbursement of subsidy to Gujarati Film Makers

Hon’ble Sir,

Established in 1937 and still maintaining the highest standards of excellence, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) stands as the first, best and largest Producers’ Association of the Indian Film Industry. We have been working extensively to promote Film & Entertainment Industry and constantly seeking to create an atmosphere that is favorable to the expansion of the film industry.

A delegation from IMPPA, including our Vice President Mr. Atul P. Patel, Executive Committee Members Mr. Harsukh Patel, Mr. Ghanshyam Talaviya, Vaishal Shah and the team of Gujarati Film Producers, had the privilege of meeting you on the 6th of February 2023 to discuss the pressing issue of subsidy disbursement, which had faced delays in the past. We are pleased to acknowledge that, with your support, the subsidy disbursement for films has restarted and 60 film Producers were paid subsidy. Thereafter again there was a delay in payment and we followed up with your kind self to expedite the process.

We express our gratitude to the Government of Gujarat for resuming the screening process for 48 films making it a total of 108 films in one year. However, we would like to emphasize the importance of conducting these screenings on a regular basis. More than 100 films are produced in Gujarat each year and more than 125 films are waiting for screening which should be kindly done as soon as possible because a consistent and timely screening process is essential to prevent financial burdens on the producers.

Additionally, we would like to draw your attention to the distressing circumstances faced by producers of 12 films which were released during the Covid pandemic but unfortunately did not perform well due to the adverse conditions and the Producers of these films did not apply for subsidies by oversight. We kindly request your intervention in considering these films for subsidy, as their Producers are in dire need of your assistance right now.

We are confident that under your able leadership, the Gujarat Government will continue the proactive approach of screening films and ensuring timely subsidy disbursement to producers and we truly appreciate your commitment to the welfare of the film fraternity.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
INDIAN MOTION PICTURE PRODUCERS’ ASSOCIATION

(ABHAY SINHA) PRESIDENT
