The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (Karnavati Mahanagar) held a condolence meeting today to pay tribute to senior Pracharak Shri Madhubhai Kulkarni. He passed away on September 18, 2025.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, widely known as the RSS, is one of the largest volunteer organizations in the world. It was founded in 1925 and has played a major role in shaping India’s social and cultural landscape. In Gujarat, the Sangh has been very active for decades, guiding thousands of swayamsevaks in different walks of life. Holding a condolence meeting for a senior pracharak is a way of showing respect and remembering their lifelong service to the organisation and society. Madhubhai had taken a pledge to donate his body. As per his last wish, his body was donated after his death.

Body donation is considered a noble act in Indian society, as it helps medical students and doctors learn and conduct research. In Gujarat, many social workers and leaders have pledged to donate their bodies. This reflects their commitment to society even after death. Madhubhai’s decision shows his selfless nature and his wish to serve humanity beyond his lifetime. Madhubhai Kulkarni joined the Sangh in 1942. From 1962, he worked as a Pracharak, and from 1984 to 1996, he served as the Prant Pracharak of Gujarat.

Joining the Sangh in 1942 meant Madhubhai became part of it during India’s freedom struggle. Pracharaks are full-time workers who dedicate their lives to the service of society and the Sangh. They remain unmarried and live a simple life, travelling from place to place to guide swayamsevaks. Serving as Gujarat’s Prant Pracharak for 12 years meant he led activities across the state, motivating countless young people and strengthening the organisation.

At the meeting, Shri Sunilbhai Mehta, Akhil Bharatiya Boudhik Pramukh of the Sangh, said that Madhubhai always understood the interest of a worker through simple talks and then connected them with suitable work. He guided workers with ease and helped them grow. Madhubhai was known for preparing the mindset of swayamsevaks in a simple and friendly way.

The position of Akhil Bharatiya Boudhik Pramukh is one of the most respected roles in the RSS. This leader looks after the intellectual and educational activities of the Sangh. Shri Sunilbhai Mehta’s words highlight how Madhubhai not only worked hard but also cared deeply for swayamsevaks, giving them the right responsibilities based on their interests. This style of leadership helped many volunteers grow into responsible leaders in society.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is an organisation connected with the Sangh, working on religious and cultural issues across the world. Having VHP leaders present shows how Madhubhai’s life touched different areas of social and spiritual work. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is India’s ruling political party. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama is a senior leader from Gujarat and has held important ministerial positions. His presence at the tribute shows how political leaders respected Madhubhai’s contribution.

Other senior pracharaks like Pravinbhai Otiya also attended, representing the strong bond among lifelong Sangh workers. The National Scheduled Caste Commission is a government body that works for the rights and welfare of the Scheduled Castes in India. Having its Chairman present indicates Madhubhai’s influence across communities and government institutions. Bharat Vikas Parishad is a service organisation founded in 1963, focusing on development, education, and culture. Vallabhbhai Ramani’s tribute shows how different service groups came together to honour Madhubhai.

Bhavnagar University is one of Gujarat’s well-known educational institutions. The presence of its former Vice Chancellor highlights Madhubhai’s respect in the academic world. Along with them, representatives from Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Sadhana Weekly, Vishwa Samvad Kendra, and many others also joined to offer their respects to the late Madhubhai Kulkarni.

The Rashtra Sevika Samiti is the women’s wing of the RSS, while Sadhana Weekly and Vishwa Samvad Kendra are known for their publications and communication work. Their participation shows that Madhubhai’s impact was not limited to one organisation but was felt across many institutions connected with cultural and social causes.

This condolence meeting not only remembered Madhubhai Kulkarni’s life but also reflected how deeply his work influenced society, politics, education, and service. His simple and humble way of living will continue to inspire swayamsevaks and social workers across India.
