Maheshdham Religious Programme Draws Thousands in Bareja
Maheshdham Seva Charitable Trust Organises a Grand Three-Day Religious Programme at Maheshdham, Bareja
Maheshdham Seva Charitable Trust has organised a grand three-day religious and cultural programme at Maheshdham, located near Navagam Fire Station on Bareja–Navagam Road, from January 2 to January 4, 2026. Such multi-day religious gatherings have long been a strong part of Indian tradition, especially in Gujarat, where community-run trusts play an active role in preserving faith, culture, and social harmony. Events like this often bring together people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a shared spiritual experience while also strengthening community bonds.
On the first day of the programme, a sacred Pothi Yatra was organised along with the inauguration of the newly constructed hall and guest house. Pothi Yatras are considered deeply meaningful in many Hindu traditions, as they symbolise respect for sacred texts and the spreading of spiritual knowledge. These yatras usually involve chanting, music, and collective prayer, helping devotees feel a sense of unity and devotion. The inauguration of the new hall and guest house marks an important step for Maheshdham, as such facilities support visiting saints, speakers, and devotees who come from distant places to attend religious events.
In the afternoon, renowned spiritual orator Jaya Kishori ji delivered her much-acclaimed discourse, “Nanibai Ki Mayre Ki Katha,” which witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees. Jaya Kishori ji is widely known across India for presenting spiritual stories simply and engagingly, especially for younger audiences. Her discourses often focus on values like devotion, family bonding, humility, and faith, making ancient stories easy to understand for modern listeners. “Nanibai Ki Mayre Ki Katha” is a popular devotional narrative that highlights unwavering faith and the grace of Lord Krishna, and it continues to attract large gatherings wherever it is recited.
Detailed information about the three-day programme was shared by Mr Girishbhai Rathi, Executive President of Maheshdham. Clear communication by organisers plays a key role in the smooth running of such large events, especially when thousands of people are expected to attend. Revered Dandi Swami Shri Jitendranand Saraswati ji, National General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti and General Secretary of Ganga Mahasabha, Varanasi, also graced the occasion with his presence. Saints and senior spiritual leaders often add depth and guidance to religious programmes, and their presence is seen as a blessing by devotees. Leaders of the community worked wholeheartedly to ensure the success of the event, reflecting the collective effort that goes into organising faith-based gatherings. Around 5,000 members of the Maheshwari community attended the programme on the first day, showing strong participation and support.
The first day featured a holy Pothi Yatra at Maheshdham, followed by the formal inauguration of the newly constructed hall and guest house. The programme commenced on an auspicious note with a spiritual discourse by renowned preacher Jaya Kishori ji. In the evening, a devotional bhajan sandhya was organised, led by bhajan artist Shri Harsh Mali. Bhajan sandhyas are an important part of devotional culture, as music and singing help devotees connect emotionally with spirituality. Such evenings often create a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere, allowing people to reflect and pray together.
On the second day, a special programme by well-known speaker and motivational personality Shri Sairam Dave will be held. Shri Sairam Dave is recognised for blending humour with life lessons, making his talks both enjoyable and meaningful. Baba Nandlal ji will also be present on this occasion. The day will include various religious and inspirational programmes, with a large gathering of devotees expected. A theatrical presentation on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, by “Guruji Ki Pathshala,” will also be staged. Performances based on historical figures like Shivaji Maharaj help younger generations learn about courage, leadership, and values through storytelling and drama.
The concluding day will feature the felicitation of donors (Bhamashahs) by distinguished guests. Honouring donors is a common practice in community organisations, as it recognises those who support social and religious causes selflessly. Shri Jay Vasavada will remain specially present on this occasion, and Jaya Kishori ji will once again guide devotees through her inspiring spiritual discourse. Repeated discourses by respected speakers often help reinforce key messages of devotion and moral living.
This three-day programme will further strengthen the spiritual and cultural objectives of Maheshdham. Such events not only focus on prayer and devotion but also promote unity, service, and cultural awareness. A large number of devotees and visitors from surrounding areas are expected to participate in this grand religious event, making it a significant spiritual gathering for the region.
