MovieVerse And JOJO Join Hands For Gujarati Cinema Fun

Newz Daddy Entertainment Updates

MovieVerse Studios, the mainstream content arm of IN10 Media Network, and JOJO Studios, the newly launched film division of JOJO App, the world’s fastest growing Gujarati OTT platform, came together to announce their first of many Gujarati films that is a wholesome family entertainer. IN10 Media has TV channels, digital apps, and music labels. MovieVerse is its film wing made to create both Hindi and regional movies. JOJO App is now one of the biggest Gujarati content apps, with both free and paid plans. It offers movies, dramas, and music to Gujarati audiences.

This collaboration marks a double milestone: MovieVerse’s debut in Gujarati cinema and JOJO Studios’ first-ever foray into films. The shoot begins this Navratri. Navratri is one of Gujarat’s most colourful festivals, lasting nine nights. Families and youngsters take part in dance, music, and celebrations. Many filmmakers plan shoots or releases during Navratri, as people are more open to watching new content.

Gujarati cinema has been on an impressive growth trajectory over the past decade, driven by strong storytelling, that are now drawing significant box office numbers not only in Gujarat, but also in neighbouring states, attracting mainstream investments.
Films like “Chhello Divas,” “Wrong Side Raju,” and “Hellaro” showed that Gujarati films can win hearts outside Gujarat. Some even won national awards. With this, more investors are putting money into Gujarati films. Streaming platforms have also brought Gujarati movies to new cities and foreign audiences.

Recognising this momentum, MovieVerse Studios and JOJO Studios are investing in a wholesome family entertainer designed for pan-Gujarati mass appeal. The film stars Raunaq Kamdar, Mitra Gadhvi, and Shraddha Dangar, and is directed by Kilol Parmar. The film promises to combine humour, emotion, and cultural relatability elements that have consistently driven Gujarati cinema’s commercial success.

Raunaq Kamdar is loved for his romantic roles, Mitra Gadhvi is known for his comedy and theatre work, and Shraddha Dangar is praised for strong performances. Kilol Parmar has experience in Gujarati storytelling, making him a good choice to direct. Audiences in Gujarat enjoy films that mix laughter with family bonds and festival flavour.

Aditya Pittie, Managing Director, IN10 Media Network: “Regional cinema is the growth frontier for Indian entertainment, and Gujarati films are leading that wave with content that resonates far beyond the state’s borders. We believe associating with regional cinema not only helps us gain momentum but also strengthens our portfolio by tapping into markets with loyal and expanding audiences. Our first Gujarati film, in collaboration with JOJO Studios, reflects our belief in the market’s potential and our commitment to telling stories that are both rooted and widely appealing.”
IN10 is now investing more in regional films because these films are doing well across India. Gujarati cinema is no longer limited to local theatres—it is reaching new viewers in Mumbai, Delhi, and even abroad with the Gujarati diaspora.

Dhruvin Shah, Founder, JOJO Studios: “We are thrilled to partner with MovieVerse Studios for our film debut. Gujarati cinema has evolved into a commercially robust and creatively exciting space, making it the right time for JOJO Studios to step into films. This collaboration is a testament to our vision of bringing engaging, accessible, and family-driven entertainment to audiences”.
The JOJO App already streams over 1,000 hours of Gujarati content. With over 10,000 titles, it is a ready platform for film promotion and streaming. By moving into films, JOJO can give its audience something fresh and exclusive.

“Our partnership with MovieVerse Studios marks an exciting new chapter for JOJO Studios. We believe Gujarati cinema has a unique voice that deserves a wider audience, and with this collaboration, we aim to deliver stories that are both meaningful and entertaining.”
Gujarati stories often include folklore, festivals, and family culture. When films mix tradition with modern themes, they connect better with young and old audiences alike. This makes Gujarati films appealing even outside the state.

Jay Kariya, Partner,  “At JOJO Studios, our focus has always been on creating content that connects with people across generations. Teaming up with MovieVerse Studios gives us the perfect platform to bring Gujarati stories to life on a larger canvas, while staying true to our roots of family-friendly and engaging storytelling.”
Family-friendly stories are important because they attract grandparents, parents, and children together. Gujarati families love to enjoy films as a group outing. JOJO App also features plays and shows that are safe for all ages, which keeps audiences loyal.

Vivek Krishnani, CEO, MovieVerse Studios: “At MovieVerse Studios, our focus is on building a slate of films that balance creative strength with audience demand. With each collaboration, we continue to grow and extend our presence, and stepping into regional cinema is a natural progression as the need for culturally resonant content grows. JOJO App is already one of the biggest entertainment platforms in Gujarat, and we are glad that as JOJO launches its film studio, we are joining hands with them on this exciting project, which is the first of many. Together, we are confident of delivering a film that audiences will wholeheartedly enjoy.
MovieVerse has already announced projects in different languages and is also working on global collaborations. Their step into Gujarati cinema shows they see it as a growing market with big opportunities.

With this collaboration, both studios aim to strengthen Gujarati cinema’s growing presence on the national stage and cater to the ever-expanding demand for quality regional content. Regional cinema in India is booming—Telugu and Kannada films are already earning national recognition. Gujarati cinema is now catching up, with audiences waiting for more relatable yet high-quality films.
