Mundra Port Celebrates 25 Years of Growth

Mundra Port, which is a massive place where ships come to load and unload things, is celebrating 25 years of doing an excellent job. It’s one of the biggest ports globally and has been growing a lot over the years.

Since it started in 1998, Mundra Port has become very important for India’s economy. It has given more than Rs. 2.25 lakh crore to the government, which is like giving a lot of money to help the country. It has also given jobs to more than 7.5 crore people since it started.

In the beginning, Mundra Port handled only a little bit of stuff in 1998, but by 2014, it became the first port in India to handle 100 million tonnes of things. Now, it handles over 155 million tonnes, which is about 11% of all the stuff that comes and goes through India by sea. It’s also the main place for containers to go in and out of India, with about one-third of all containers going through Mundra Port.

The Chairman of the Adani Group, Mr. Gautam Adani, says that Mundra Port is not just a port, but a symbol of what India can achieve when people work together. The CEO of Mundra Port, Mr. Karan Adani, is proud of how the port has grown in just 25 years. He thinks it’s not just a port anymore; it’s like a gateway for India to connect with the world. He believes they’ve helped India grow and that their journey is just beginning.
