Prime Minister’s Speech To Focus On The Achievements Of A Fearless Naya Bharat on the 79th Independence Day From Red Fort

From Red Fort in Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will preside over the 79th Independence Day festivities. The magnificent show offers a glimpse of an affluent, safe, and fearless Naya Bharat

On August 15, 2025, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lead the nation’s celebrations of the 79th Independence Day from Delhi’s famous Red Fort. From the walls of the famous landmark, the prime minister will raise the national flag and speak to the country. The subject of this year’s celebrations is Naya Bharat, as the country is making enormous progress towards achieving the government’s objective of Viksit Bharat by 2047. The festivities will provide a forum for remembering the ongoing ascent of a prosperous, safe, and fearless Naya Bharat and will give people new strength to push forward on the path to development.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth, and Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will greet the Prime Minister as he arrives at the Red Fort. The Prime Minister will be introduced to Delhi Area Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, the General Officer Commanding (GoC), by the Defence Secretary. Following that, the GoC, Delhi Area will lead Shri Narendra Modi to the Saluting Base, where the Prime Minister will receive a general salute from a combined Inter-Services and Delhi Police Guard. The Prime Minister will then examine the Guard of Honour.

There will be 96 members of the Prime Minister’s Guard of Honour contingent, including one officer and 24 members from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police. This year’s Independence Day activities are coordinated by the Indian Air Force. Wing Commander AS Sekhon will be in charge of the Guard of Honour. Major Arjun Singh will lead the Army contingent in the Prime Minister’s Guard, while Lieutenant Commander Komaldeep Singh will lead the Naval contingent and Squadron Leader Rajan Arora will lead the Air Force contingent. Additional DCP Shri Rohit Rajbir Singh will be in charge of the Delhi Police contingent.

Raksha Mantri will receive the Prime Minister as he enters the Red Fort’s ramparts after he has inspected the Guard of Honour. Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth, Chief of the Air Staff Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Shri Rajnath Singh. To raise the national flag, the Prime Minister will be led by the GoC, Delhi area, to the dais on the ramparts.

Rashika Sharma, the flying officer, will help the prime minister raise the flag. The courageous gunners of the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial) will time it to the 21-Gun Salute. Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat will command the ceremonial battery, which will use the local 105mm Light Field Guns. Naib Subedar (Assistant Instructor in Gunnery) Anuthosh Sarkar will serve as the gun position officer.

When the Prime Minister raises the national flag, the Rashtriya Salute will be given by the National Flag Guard, which consists of one officer and thirty-two other ranks from the Army, Navy & Air Force, and Delhi Police, for a total of 128 personnel. This Inter-Services Guard and Police Guard will be commanded by Wing Commander Tarun Dagar.

Major Prakash Singh will lead the Army contingent in the National Flag Guard, while Lieutenant Commander Mohd Parvej will lead the Naval contingent and Squadron Leader VV Sharvan will lead the Air Force contingent. Additional DCP Shri Abhimanyu Poswal will serve as the commander of the Delhi Police contingent.

A “Rashtriya Salute” will be given to the tricolour after it has been raised. When the national flag is raised and the “Rashtriya Salute” is given, the Air Force band—which consists of one JCO and twenty-five other ranks—will perform the national anthem. Junior Warrant Officer M Deka will direct the band. The band performing the National Anthem will have 11 Agniveer Vayu musicians for the first time.

Two Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopters, one carrying the national flag and the other carrying a flag that reads “Operation Sindoor,” will shower the location with flower petals as soon as the prime minister raises the national flag. Wing Commanders Vinay Poonia and Aditya Jaiswal will be in charge of the helicopters.

Operation Sindoor

This year’s Independence Day celebrations will honour the accomplishments of Operation Sindoor. The Operation Sindoor logo will be displayed on the Gyanpath view cutter. The operation will also influence the floral design.

Additionally, the Operation Sindoor emblem is used on invitation cards. The watermark of Chenab Bridge, which represents the ascent of “Naya Bharat,” is also displayed on invitation cards.

The Prime Minister will speak to the nation following the flower petals being thrown. The National Anthem will be sung by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and “My Bharat” volunteers after he finishes speaking. The festivities will involve 2,500 Army, Navy, and Air Force cadets, both male and female, as well as “My Bharat” volunteers. These volunteers and cadets from “My Bharat” will be seated across from the Rampart on Gyanpath. They’ll be creating the “Naya Bharat” emblem.
