PARESH RAWAL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Paresh Rawal, the veteran actor-turned-politician, becomes a year older today, May 30. He is, without a doubt, one of the most popular actors in the country. Paresh Rawal debuted in Bollywood in 1984 with a Gujarati film and went on to perform a variety of supporting and negative roles in Hindi films during the 1980s and 1990s. Since the turn of the century, however, the actor has specialized in comedy.

He has captivated the hearts of the public countless times with his excellent performances, ranging from Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Hera Pheri to Dr. Ghungroo in Welcome.

On the occasion of his birthday, here are five of his most memorable performances:

Andaz Apna Apna

This action-comedy-romance, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, and others. Paresh Rawal had a dual part in the film, and his performance was without a doubt one of the film’s highlights. His famous phrase, “Teja main hoon, mark idhar hai,” is also well remembered.
Hera Pheri is a fictional character.

The film Hera Pheri, as well as each of its characters, will always be remembered. Priyadarshan directed this action-comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu. Paresh Rawal’s Babu Rao in Hera Pheri is one of the most memorable characters he has ever performed on the big screen.

Hungama

OMG: Oh My God!

Mithun Chakraborty, Paresh Rawal, and Akshay Kumar starred in this fantasy drama directed by Umesh Shukla and focused on the belief in God. Kanji, played by Paresh Rawal, takes God to task for the atrocities he believes God has meted out to him. However, Kanji was visited by God himself during the procedure, who guided him on a voyage of self-discovery.

Sanju

This Rajkumar Hirani film was based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Manisha Koirala appeared in this film. The late renowned actor Sunil Dutt, father of Sanjay Dutt, was beautifully represented by Paresh Rawal. Paresh Rawal’s subtly depiction of the icon’s characteristics was highly accepted by both crowds and critics.
